- The uniform of Zebra squad became the standard issue desert uniform of the U.S. Army during Desert Storm in 1991. And the pilot glove that Stoner wears while flying the MiG becomes the standard issue pilot gloves of the U.S. Army aviation also in the early 90's. It's amazing how Airwolf has so much "non-technical," non-essentials in the movie that was way ahead of its time.
