When new hi-tech attack chopper HX1 is stolen by an elite group of mercenaries, the tactics used fits those that Hawke's MIA brother St. John was trained in, and Hawke is certain that his brother may somehow be involved. Dominic begs him to leave well alone, but Hawke is adamant, and with Archangel insisting that if it can't be retrieved, the Firm will blow HX1 and anyone flying it out of the sky, Hawke goes back into his past and some of the people he knows from it, to desperately try and get a lead on the group and mercenaries and possibly St. John. But the HX1 is so powerful, it may even be able to blow Airwolf out of the sky...moreless

One of the best. I love how they reference Colonel Vidor from \"And They Are Us\" as one of the four who could have pulled the HX1 theft. They also bring back the same guy who played the fake St. John from Season 1, and the saleman British guy is the same guy who drugged Hawke from another episode in Season 1.

Hawke going around asking about his brother\'s death causes different emotional reactions and points of view from different people he encounters. Mace\'s parents think Hawke is trying to resurrect their son, Mace, when Hawke\'s intention is to find out about St. John. This type of convoluted reaction is not so easily scripted and played out in other 80\'s shows.

What I can\'t figure out, however, just like Colonel Vidor in \"And They Are Us\" is why people are so hush-hush about what they may know about St. John to Hawke. It\'s as if they intentionally want to string him along. If they would have just told him what they knew, Hawke would have left quieter. But then, the story would have to change, I guess.

Overall, Airwolf\'s acting and story plot were way ahead of its time.moreless

    • During the final moments of the climatic battle between String and Mace, Dom deployed the cannons to fire, yet every subsequent exterior shot as they chased the HX1, Airwolf's underbelly showed the cannons retracted.

    • In the beginning of the episode, when Hawke has flashbacks of the day he last saw St. John, and when St. John shouts, you can see a microphone in the top left corner of the screen.

    • When the helicopter lands in the beginning of the episode and they cut the power you can see shots of the propellers slowing down. However, when the chopper lands you can see them moving at full speed again.

    • One of Airwolf´s actual pilots on the show, Peter McKernan, Jr., can be seen as Hawke´s co-pilot in the flashback scene saying "Go! Go Hawke! The ropes are full. We can´t take any more."

  • QUOTES (4)

    ADD QUOTES
    • (Dominic has just finished nagging at String, as he thinks Sinjin is still alive) String: Dom, you've always wanted to be a father to me. And for that, I'm grateful. For a FATHER, not a mother.

    • Dom: Some guy rips off a cockamamie copter, and you're going bananas! String: They came in at zero power using autorotation. It's technique that we developed in 'Nam for hidden Cong depots. There's was only four guys who could pull it off without stuffing the chopper into the ground: myself, Col. Vidor, Mace Taggert and Sinjin. Dominic: And Col. Vidor is dead. String: So is Mace Taggert. I'm here, so who's that leave? Dominic: Sinjin. String: My brother's still alive.

    • (As the dogfight begins between Airwolf and HX-1) String: (referring to Sinjin) Where is he, Mace? (Mace begins firing at Airwolf) Mace, listen to me, if you're in trouble, I'll help you out of it, I swear I will. [Mace fires a missile at Airwolf and narrowly misses] Dom: There's your answer, String.

    • Archangel: We will find the HX-1, and when we do we're gonna blow it to hell, along with whoever's inside it!
