Dominic is distraught to hear that his daughter Sally-Anne – whom Hawke never even knew existed – has been found dead on the beach after over-dosing on the Caribbean Island of San Remo, where Dom himself was born. Detouring in their way to a top-secret Airwolf mission for the Firm, Hawke flies Dominic to the island to attend the funeral. Great acting by the actress of Caitlin. Her anguish at Dom\'s arrest and from talking with Dom during visitation was well enacted.

And so was Dom. The emotions of losing a daughter by death and the thrown in prison would send shock to anyone. Dom truly expressed that shock.

I truly loved how the episode showed the process of Dom\'s arrest in the police station - mug shot, finger print, etc. And you can sense the LT\'s friendship and wanting to help but really couldn\'t.

The entire San Remo investigation was like a \"Murder She Wrote\" or \"Perry Mason\" or other 80\'s/90\'s mystery movies. It certainly was a different style compared to the previous Airwolf episodes. Hawke had never taken on a P.I. role like in this episode.

As for someone\'s comment as to how the right-side door opened up when Hawke opened the left door, and explaining it is something about JMV\'s right arm being injured, there is something more common and simple than that. The double-door was a standard lock system where the latch (usually on top and/or bottom of the door) was unlatched. So if either left or right door is opened, the other one will also. So the opening of the right door may or may not have anything to do with JMV\'s right arm being injured.

This is also the episode where Dom gives Caitlin the permission to now all him \"Dom\" rather than \"Mr. Santini.\"moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (7)

    • The officer that is taking Dom's mug shot tells him to turn and face the wall. Not only does he not face the wall, but has his back to the wall, the officer does not say anything and proceeds to take the picture.

    • When Vincent gets out of the Jeep and walks into the church for the funeral, you notice he does not use his right arm to climb out of the vehicle and open the church door, as his right arms appears limp.

    • Watch Jan-Michael Vincent's stunt double slip and nearly fall and hurt himself during the fight at night as he purses the intruder outside!

    • After Vince takes a swing at Hawke and falls off the bar chair, watch Hawke's arm as he reaches down to pull him up – it's actually a "double"s arm, due to JMV having a broken arm, and isn't wearing the bracelet that Hawke is wearing!

    • As mentioned under Notes, Jan-Michael Vincent broke his arm off-set during the filming of this episode. Watch when Hawke goes to leave Archangel's office – he opens the left-hand double-door, but he doesn't (appear to) touch the right-side one – it opens itself (presumably it was opened by some other means, to try and cover the fact that he couldn't use his right arm).

    • When Dom's ex-wife Lila drops the locket that he has gone to collect, in the close-up of it falling to the ground, the chain lands in a different position to than in the next shot, as Dom bends over to pick it up.
(Also, in the close up, the carpet seems to be a different shade, but this is probably just due to the different lighting on the shot)

    • As Airwolf takes off from the Lair, there is a shot of Dominic in his usual place in the rear of the chopper, yet just a couple of shots later, as the Lady is still rising from the Lair, he is seen seated next to Hawke (where he remains for the rest of the flight). The first shot seems to be taken from slightly later in the story, when they go on the secret mission for the Firm.

  • QUOTES (2)

    • (Airwolf hovers in front of the casino window)
String: Darius, I'm taking you in for the murder of Lila Santini.
Solly: (to Darius) What the hell is he talking about?
      String: It's over, Darius.
Darius: (to his hoods) I thought you said you took care of him!
      String: Everyone else, clear out!
Darius: Get that thing! Get that thing! Get it!

    • (String, disgusted at Dom's being jailed, and Archangel's lack of cooperation in helping to get him out)
String: You know something? I'm gonna take Airwolf down to that city hall, and I'm gonna put up a fireworks display that they'll never forget!
Archangel: Then you'll lose Airwolf, and you still won't have Dominic out!

  • NOTES (3)

    • This is the first episode of the series to feature both Caitlin and Archangel, though they aren't seen on-screen together until the next episode, 'Fallen Angel'.

    • During the filming of this episode, Jan-Michael Vincent broke his right arm during a drunken argument with his (then) wife. As a result, for a great many shots in this episode, he is seen gesturing, opening doors, etc., with his left arm, while his right arm hangs limp. (Some shots are evidentially filmed before the break, as he is seen to move it a couple of times).

    • The working title of this episode was 'Death Do Us Part'.

  • ALLUSIONS (1)

    • Episode Title: "Sins of the Past"
This is a reference to a TV drama movie starring Kim Cattral which aired in April 1984 (this episode occurring after).
