At the funeral of a Vietnam comrade, Hawke takes it upon himself to deliver the man's coffin flag and Congressional Medal of Honour to the soldier's brother, Billy Fargo. But arriving in the small rural town where Fargo is reported to be living, he finds the whole area inhabited solely by youths, all under their "father" Fargo's influence.
