Play that funky music imp-boy!
Genie: Ned the Destroyer! He's destroying!
Nefir: All play and no work makes Nefir a poor imp!
Nefir: What do we have here? Visitors...and a genie! Genie: (as a human) HEY! I am not a genie! I'm a human being! (Nefir pokes Genie. He turns back into a genie) WOW! I am a genie! This is gonna be a suprise to mom and pop!
Iago: I was tryin' to be practical. We got a genie with phenominal, cosmic powers! Genie: (with x-ray glasses on) Look at my bones... Iago: Well semi-phenominal, nearly-cosmic powers. (Aladdin and Abu stare at Iago) Okay! I was cheatin'!
Getzistan Sultan: Smile everyone! Smile! Everyone smiles in Getzistan! Its the jolly-est place on Earth! Iago: It's ground zero is what it is!
(Aladdin is waiting for Genie in the middle of the desert) Aladdin: Where is he? (mailbox appears out of nowhere) (Aladdin opens it and pulls out a letter, then reads it) Aladdin: Hello, Aladdin. I have captured your Genie and I am forcing him to destroy the town. You have no hope in stoping me. PS, that'll be 200 dollars for the mailbox?! (not reading) ARGH!
Nefir: Okay, here's your bill. Two-hundred dollars to keep you trapped. Five-thousand dollars for the wrestle. Genie: WHAT?! Nefir: And ten-thousand dollars for the dancing shoes. Genie: What dancing (looks down)--Oh.
Ned: I don't want to destroy the town, its these shoes. I woke up one morning with them on, and whenever I hear music, I just have to dance! And that's why I keep destroying the town. Genie: But who would want the town destroyed every single night? Nefir: That would be me!
Jasmine, the Sultan, and the Palace Guards do not appear in this episode.
It may not be a random choice that this episode was released on VHS with "The Citadel," as the production code states that this episode was 008, and "The Citadel" is 009.
Nefir places un-removable shoes on Ned The Destroyer that make him dance non-stop when he hears music.
This episode, along with The Citadel, was released on vhs with the title "Magic Makers"
Nefir looks like a Dodo bird.
This is the 1st appearance of Nefir and his imps.
The song the rhino (and later Genie) dance to is Dance of the Hours, which was also used in Fantasia. In fact, the dancing rhino may be a reference to the dancing hippos in that segment of the movie.
Genie: Imps, why did it have to be imps? This may be a reference to the 1980 film Raiders of the Lost Ark, when Indiana Jones says, "Snakes, why did it have to be snakes?"
Ned: Play that funky music imp-boy. This is an obvious play on the song Play That Funky Music by Wild Cherry, in which the artist says in the chorus, "Play that funky music, white boy."
Nefir dives into his gold This may be a play on the late-80's/ early 90's cartoon Ducktales, in which the main character "Scrooge McDuck" always dove into his gold that was in his money bin.
The title is a play on the saying, "Never say never!"
