Following up on season four's list of repeat themes, this episode ushers forward the beginning of the end for the show. The pattern is now set: introduce new character (in this case, nerdy Neal Tanner, brother of Willie) who has never seen ALF, shock new character with ALF's appearance, then test their compatibility for a few cheap chuckles. As if that weren't dismal enough, this episode is guilty of relying on the lamest of laughs by making one pop cultural allusion after another, feebly attempting to garner reaction through ALF's parroting commercials, television and old movies, rather than actually creating humorous dialogue.
