  • Whatever happened to ALF? Here's where we find out. Alf gets captured by the Alien Task Force, but his adventures haven't quite ended yet.

This kindda movie wasn't as good as the series IMO, mainly because it didn't feature the Tanners, who've been relocated bc of their exposure to ALF. ALF as a prisonner of the Alien Task Force is causing havok, as he always does anywhere. As for the other charcaters, I just thought it was a little lacking, but maybe it's just me, I'm not that fond of total redoing of something I like. The first scenes of the movie, during the inquiry where they review the test films with ALF are the funniest in the entire movie. Another great moment is when Alf is talking to the motel owner. That's just plain hilarious. All in all, it's great to see Alf getting into more trouble.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (4)

    • When Rick and ALF use Dexter's computer, ALF writes with his left hand. In the series, ALF was right-handed.

    • In this movie, when Rick and Melissa carry ALF in a bag, Melissa complains about ALF being heavy and Rick says all of his seven stomachs are full.
But it was established in the series that ALF has eight stomachs.

    • ALF never revealed what happened to Jake, Raquel and Trevor.

    • In the second season episode We're So Sorry, Uncle Albert, ALF reveals that everyone on Melmac dies at the age of 650. This should have rendered the threat to kill him meaningless.

  • QUOTES (6)

    • (At the end of the hearing, ALF reveals his own gavel.)
      ALF: This hearing is impaired.

    • Colonel: Project ALF is about to be terminated. Not just the project, but the ALF.

    • Rick Mullican: We're on our way to Mardi Gras, thus the costumes.
      Bouncer: What Mardi Gras?
      ALF: What costumes?
Rick Mullican: The ones we're wearing.
ALF (looks at himself again): What costumes?

    • Motel manager: You're not from around here, are you?
      ALF: Minnesota.
Motel manager: Somehow I thought it'd be farther than that.
      ALF: Uh, Michigan.
Motel manager: Ah, yeah, the wolverine state.

    • Melissa Hill: ALF, hide in the bathroom.
ALF: It's been a long time since those words were uttered.

    • Rick Mullican: ALF, you have a choice. Your money or your life.
      No response.
      Melissa Hill: Well, ALF?
      ALF: I'm thinking, I'm thinking.

  • NOTES (2)

  • ALLUSIONS (7)

    • To stress the importance of choosing which products to endorse, ALF mentions Bill Cosby and gelatinous products. Bill Cosby is an American actor famous for his 80's sitcom, The Cosby Show. He also used be the public spokesman for "Jell-O".

    • To illustrate his opinion that the camera adds 20 pounds to one's nose, ALF uses Gérard Depardieu as an example. Gérard Depardieu is a French actor whose nose is large.

    • When being fitted for his fake space suit, ALF says he's the same suit size as Danny DeVito and the same dress size as his wife. Danny DeVito and wife Rhea Perlman have been married since the early 80's, and the joke was probably due to the actor's stature and build.

    • ALF says Neil Armstrong had no personality. Neil Armstrong, an American astronaut, was the first man to walk on the moon on July 20, 1969.

    • ALF says he'd like to go public on Baywatch. Baywatch (1989-2001) was a TV series about gorgeous lifeguards on California beaches.

    • ALF recognizes a picture of the Starship Enterprise, which is the flagship of Star Trek and Star Trek: The Next Generation.

    • ALF initially thinks he's being taken to Carl Sagan. Carl Sagan was an American astronomer, astrobiologist and was engaged in the SETI (Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence).
