  • A millionaire leaves almost all his money to his dog, prompting murderous thoughts in his human heirs.

A pretty dumb episode, really, but it's slickly done. Dick Van Dyke, just before his big sitcom breakthrough, plays the ne'er-do-well nephew of a rich man, most disconsolate to inherit a single dollar from this relative and to learn that he rates lower in the old boy's affections than his dog. But if he bumps off the dog, says his gold-digger wife, he'll inherit it all as next of kin. Of course, the mutt is just too appealing, and even the tough private eye the wife hires to bump him off can't bring himself to do the deed. The pay-off to the story (the wife is telling her story to a psychiatrist) is particularly feeble, but that ineffable appeal Stella Stevens could always exude is put to good use.
