  • A murderer with money problems is blackmailed by tramps.

An indifferent episode with the germ of an interesting idea - the murderousness of a seemingly well-heeled middle class man, intent on protecting his possessions, is contrasted with the survivalist techniques of a couple of derelicts with absolutely nothing (except guile). Satire might have been used very pointedly, but direction and script don't make anything like the most of the plot's possibilities. However, it is worth seeing for the performance of Robert Newton as the smarter and more eloquent of the two tramps. As this show was first aired only a month before Newton's death (at age 51), it might be the last acting role of his illustrious career.
