  • If you can't trust the bank, who can you trust?

A silly story, if quite nicely done; its problem is one that was often in evidence in this series, which is that twenty minutes or so is actually a bit too long for it. Dick York is the absent-minded academic who knows quite well that supercilious bank employee Philip Coolidge pinched $200 from his account to cover up a discrepancy and who now uses an elaborate trick, spread over many weeks, to get his revenge. Poor Coolidge ends up in a mental hospital and loses his job, but York gets his money back. You might wonder if revenge isn't a bit too savage, in the circumstances, and it's certainly quite unbelievable that no-one would work out what was going on. However, it's modestly diverting and well-acted.
