Another of many ironic endings. You will enjoy Rip Torn plahing an ex-con who was sent to jail for a crime he didn't committ.

The episode description herein isn't exactly correct.

Torn's character does rob a tax office, but only for the amount of money he would have earned had he not been sent to jail.

He intentionally leaves a hotel key he made in prison as well as leaves other tips- just enough for the crooked detective to catch up to him but not enough evidence to convict him.
