During their search, Heyes and the Kid mention that they´ve been there for two days without finding anything. But just before that scene, George´s audition is set for that same night. Still, the audition takes place AFTER Heyes and the Kid have looked for two days.

Pete Duel's dog Shoshone appears in this episode. Shoshone was an Australian blue heeler cattle dog, and died in 1981, ten years after Pete Duel's death. Peter remarked in an interview that he had named her in honour of the Indian Tribe of the same name.

Pete Duel's dog Carroll makes a brief guest appearance in this episode. She is an attractive mixed breed and was named after the writer, Lewis Carroll. She died in 1978/79.

Pete Duel's own two dogs, Shoshone and Carroll made a guest appearance on this episode. They appear in the scene where the "drunken" man is celebrating the return of the jury, barking and following him. Apparently they weren't too happy with the deputy sheriff's rough handling of their master!

In this episode Heyes bets a bartender that he can stand an egg on end on the bar without cracking it. He surreptitiously adds some salt to the egg before performing this feat.

Heyes and Curry state that the route by which the explosives must be driven to reach the miners who ordered them is rough mountain roads, but all we ever see of it are small, gentle hills. Apparently the only mountainous terrain the company had access to shoot in was being used for Devil's Hole with Heyes and his party.

Nitpick: When Heyes and Julia explore the "Indian cave," there's plenty of light to see by...but nothing to indicate where it's coming from. Perhaps there was an ancient skylight?

Randolph Mantooth, who starred as Firefighter/Paramedic John Gage on Emergency! starting in 1972, is a guest star in this episode. He plays a young man who, not surprisingly, comes to Heyes' and Curry's rescue at a crucial moment. Maybe they should've called it "Stagecoach 51"!

Right after Heyes and Curry leave the rest of the gang at the lake, they are chased by a posse. If you watch the very top of the screen when they show a long shot of the posse, you can see part of the crew wandering around and the last part of the posse waiting their turn to start riding.
