So.. still in that mad house.. and Sydney is trying her best to get out but soon she manages to work out to way to end her job.. she starts to get friendly with that other inmate.. but then when she and he get out and share a heart-to-heart talk, she learns something..

Oh.. I really most say Sydney in that madhouse was quite good - she really played it so well.. and the sad story of that another man.. oh.. And the whole thanksgiving party.. and to solve the Will's article thing.. Who knows what will happen now..

And the ending.. that postcard.. beautiful..

I cried during this episode during the scene with Shepard and Sydney in the cabin, it was very emotional and I actually felt very sorry for what SD-6 had done to Shepard.

You meet a lot of killers and bad guys during the course of this show, but Shepard was the first one I actually really liked a lot and didn't want to see reach a bad ending. I wanted to see him return because he was so sympathetic. The actor who played Shepard was great too! He really captured the essence of the character and made him a likable person!

Sydney and Shephard escape the assylum successfully. He tells her that he was the one who killed Danny. She tells SD-6 that Shephard committed suicide. Vaughn and Jack meet. Jack tells Sydney more about her mother's death. Sloane suspects that there is more than one mole in SD-6. Will must publish his story about Danny's murder in the paper, but he doesn't want to. It's Thanksgiving and Francie gets engaged to Charlie!

This episode was great! It was shocking to find out about Shephard's connection with Sydney. I hope Sloane doesn't find out about Jack or Sydney. This episode gets a 9.5 out of 10!

On this episode just like the last one the Asylum story a little bit better but not much when Sydney figures out that Shepard is a would perform task that SD-6 tells him to do when they escape and she figures out the he was used just like her she let him go and tells SD-6 the he is dead When Sydney gets back to L.A. she learns that her fathers involvement is her mothers death mean while Will learns more about Eloise Kurtz over all this episode is good enough to be better then the last one but not as good as the ones before it

The escpae from the mental institution with the crazy guy was a cool storyline I thought. I thought that Sydney trying to convince the people that captured her that she should be given another chance to try and get the guy to talk was a really good scene. Some of the scenes between Sydney and the guy were kind of boring - but it all led up to the high point of the episode - when we found out how Sydneys finace was killed in cold blood. I really liked the connection, until the next scene when Will kept on doing the investigation to find out what happened to him. Now that we know what has happened to him - Wills storyline seems too random and not needed. Hopefully he will get a new plotline and I wouldnt even be shocked if he was realeased from the show as a whole. Either way - really good episode I though with just a few slow scenes here and there. It might rank as one of the worst of the series for me - but it was good.
  • My First Alias Episode

This was the first episode of Alias I saw. I love John Hannah, and was immediately drawn to the premise. Jennifer Garner has this strange charisma...as annoying as Sydney is as a regular person, her operative persona is equally compelling. As sure as Sydney is she'll complete a mission, she still exhibits the too human emotions of doubt, stress and fear. The shock treatment scene established a character at odds with Sydney's training and her own survival, making it easier to empathize with her. The worst part of the episode, though, is when Sydney says that Hannah's character committed suicide. She couldn't lie her way out of a wet paper bag with a flamethrower.

There's a real coldness about this episode that drastically separates it from the hours preceding it. In Color-Blind, we have Sydney stuck in a remote asylum without any of her expensive gadgets, and cut off from the outside world. Only then does she discover hidden truths and answers to who killed Danny.

John Hannah was by far the stand-out star of this episode. He breathed a lot of life into Martin Shepard, and endued him with craziness, humor and, when realizing what he has done in his past, guilt. The scene in the safe house between Martin and Sydney ranks up there as one of the most emotional Alias moments, with Sydney realizing that she is staring into the eyes of the man that killed her fiancée. It's a beautifully written moment, and Jennifer Garner is extraordinary in the scene, in particular when she runs out in tears.

Unlike most other episodes, I liked the home front scenes in this episode, as it made an excellent contrast from the cold, harsh asylum to the warm, loving apartment where Sydney lives. I also thought the Thanksgiving dinner scene was really cute, especially when Sydney and Jenny are introduced to each other, and there's an immediate dislike there. Obviously, this leads to a ton of flirting between Syd and Will, and both Jennifer Garner and Bradley Cooper have great chemistry, unlike Garner and Michael Vartan who, despite their off-screen romance, never convince as a couple.

In other news, it's great to see Sydney and Jack growing closer. I loved Sydney's reaction to Jack telling her who killed Danny, and I loved the scene toward the end where she hands him the Thanksgiving leftovers at work. It's in those simple gestures that you really get clued in to the fact that they're becoming more like a father-daughter unit. With, y'know, spies and stuff.

An emotional and intriguing episode with some truly stunning writing, Color-Blind isn't a masterpiece, but it's definitely one of the best episodes so far.

Oj Oj Oj Oj Oj!
