Season 4 has decided to come and play with the rest of the great episodes of Alias. Okay, so this episode is likely just a one-hit wonder with the new episode structure of having all of one episodes problems solved by the end, but I would like to think this is the episode where Alias decided to change it up and from here on out season 4 will be good.

This episode is amazing and does rank up there on my "All-Time Favorite" Alias episodes. No gamechanger that will shift the show forever or alter anything in the remaining episodes, just a really good episode. I liked Nadias and Sydneys interactions on both of there missions, which were the best of the season. The scenes where they break into the mans room and steal everything they need while he is right there was just perfection. It was comedy and it was fun to watch how they did it all, amazing acting by Jennifer and the woman that plays Nadia. The boat scene was also a nice "new" form of Alias missions. The scene where Sydney is talking about Arvin after he stops giving her information to tell the man is now my all time favorite scene in the history of this show. I loved the blank, absent look on the face of Sloane and the looks that Jack and Marshall were giving him at the same time. Even the camera panning to Dixon and Vaughn in the van to see there blank reaction. Everyone was stunned and everyone was surprised. I loved that scene more then any scene in the history of the show. Perfection. Hopefully season 4 changes for the better...starting...right now.moreless

  • Detente is the seventh episode in season 4 of Alias. It is the first episode of the season when Sydney actually speaks her mind about how she feel about working with Sloane. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -moreless

    I thought this episode was great, Sydney finally speaks her mind about how she really feels about Sloane. I especially like the part when Sydney and Nadia have to get close to the bad guy's girlfriend. When first walk into the club like they own it and knowing that they own the place is just classic Alias. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Does anyone know the name of the song playing when they walk into the club to talk to the girlfriend?moreless

This episode was one of the best episodes of the fourth season. It was so well written. It is a series classic. I loved Sydney and Nadia on a mission together. It was a very good episode. I liked the fight scenes in this episode as well. The sisters also acted good undercover when they became friends with the woman at the hotel. It was so entertaining. I was on the edge of my seat. This episode alone probably got the show a fifth season. This episode is one of the best episodes of the series. It is the perfect installment to the fourth season of this amazing show.moreless

i loved how Nadia and Sid jus looked at the room and looked at all the evidence of a woman. Basically they looked at the magazines, the purse even the purfume and were able to create a cover to intercept the target and amaze most of the guys with their resourcefulness i know why von had to smile he was proud and amazed at how these girls were able to look at the scene and read it like a text book. It was extremely cool and amazing also when they went though with it basically getting all the information with the target right in the room.It was excellently done no matter what Sloane says. these girl say a problem and they dealt with it to the level of their expertise.moreless

My old Alias is back. The ep flew by. I was all, "it's over already?" It could be seen as one of the weaker episodes of S1 and S2 (due to the crap-ass plot), but get past the camp ("she makes a mess so she is more than a one-night-stand?" What kind of lousy spywork is that?), and boy, this episode blows you away.

Competitiveness between Nadia and Sydney ... prophecy alert!

Is it really possible for the 2 of them to do their hair so quickly and alas, find a dress of a stranger's that does NOT fit them? Oh well, heh.

Idea of Vaughn and Dixon was interesting, but Nadia and Syd paid off well.

Sydney confronting Sloane makes sense to me. That son-of-a-bitch killed my beloved FRANCIE! And um...what was his name again? Oh yeah. Danny. Who Syd really loves because she never EVER talks about him. I would've preferred the rant to emphasize Francie and Danny more rather than the "unacceptable" part. If she had gone, "You killed Francie." That would have just been, wow. I understand the ep shuffling now though.

Can you imagine if Nadia had said, "Daddy, I'm not going to love you anymore if you keep yelling at me." during the reprimand? For some reason, that kept popping up in my head.

This episode reinforced my belief that the cast of Alias really is top-notch. We get a heart-breaking speech by Carl Lumbly, strong acting by Mia Maestro, and the whole Sloane/Syd dynamic. Less Jack, but he's sure to get his own centric ep soon (and the proposal thing was great).

    • Sloane: We have no intel on that woman. You'll be going in blind, Sydney. Sydney: We know enough. She has gossip rags all over the room, which means she's fine making a mess-so we know she's not a one-night-stand. Her shoes cost more than most people's monthly salary, so she either has money of her own or access to Tambor's. Either way, empty champagne bottles, her side of the bed-this girl like to party. But her boyfriend would rather stay in and watch TV their last night in Monaco. So she's bored. Most likely pissed off. Edit
    • Nadia: Wait a minute. I hate that perfume. It has a weird patchouli smell. Sydney: See under the bed? The slingbacks? Nadia: Champagne bottles on the nightstand. Sydney: Check out the magazines. Nadia: Designer purse. Sydney: It's a shot. Weiss: What's a shot? What're you talking about? Nadia: I know where to get what we need. (Nadia leaves the room) Weiss: Wait a minute. Where's she going? Edit
    • Nadia: Never imagined this... I didn't even know spies where real, until I was recruited. Sydney: From school? Nadia: From a juvenile detention home. Edit
