So.. the leads are back on the book what Sydney got from Argentina and.. they need for her to get the page from there and do the switch.. and that in Sloane's house.. sounds crazy but she manages it.. and the end.. when CIA figures out what to do with that book.. even more crazy.. I am not even sure what it all means but.. Ok.. the best part for me in this episode was Will story what somehow hits the top - he is in position where he has to chose - his and his family and friend's life or the article.. and it looks like there is no choice.. and I have no idea what he should or can do.. he is in trouble.. and that dinner in Sloane's place.. the irony.. meeting those people who are behind it.. trying to kill him.moreless

Vaughn asks Sydney to use her friendship with Emily, Sloane's wife, in order to get more photos of the Rambaldi book. She, Jack, and Will go to dine at Sloane's house. There, Sydney gets the photos and the page. Will is kidnapped in order to warn him to stop doing what he's doing with SD-6 or they'll hurt his friends and family. He does stop. He also breaks up with Jenny. Vaughn finds out what the page of the Rambaldi page was: a picture of a woman who looks like Sydney.

This episode was great! The ending was cool! It was scary when Sloane walked in on Sydney. This episode gets a 10 out of 10!moreless

Another amazing episode and this season is really starting to become one of my favorite devoloped television series season 1s of all time.Every episode seems to entertain me from beginning to end. Many shows seem to falter once the writing gets into the middle of the season because they want to use all the good ideas in the beginning to draw in people and then big twists at the end to keep those same people interested and coming back. I must say this show never seems to let up on the action and the adventure, every episode seems to be up there and it just seems to be getting better and better. SD 6 kidnapping Will make me think Jack is down deep with some secrets with that man in prison he doesn’t want coming up. Sydney getting somewhat caught in the study was kind of surprising. I thought she would have gotten out of there okay, but she got caught red handed. I guess he figured she had just finished talking on the phone, but I would have found that a little odd from the other end of the perspective. Either way – great shocking twist for an ending that has me confused and a handful of other mysteries that make me want to keep coming back for more. Fantastic episode.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (4)

    • Number 47: When a black-hooded Jack Bristow and a few other hooded men kidnap Will and threaten his family and friends in order to make him stop researching SD-6, Jack lists Sydney's address as 4250 Cochran Street. 4 and (2+5)= 7 (and 0) is her house number. Also, 42+5=47.

    • Number 47: According to Vaughn the page 47 is always significant in a Rambaldi manuscript.

    • When Sydney is talking to the man on the boat, she actually speaks Swedish, but the subtitle says [Speaking Russian]. What Sydney says in Swedish is: "Excuse me, can you help me? My boat...I have no gasoline left. Can you loan me some gasoline? ...Thank you very much.

    • In Tunisia, Dixon says "...and if you happen to see a sandwich..." Sydney says "You got it" but mouths something different.

  • QUOTES (15)

    • Will: Jenny listen, I think you're great. You're smart and you're beautiful and I think we've had a lot of fun. But you and I, I just don't think that we...
      (Jenny stops the car)
Jenny: Are you breaking up with me? I drive all the way out here with a broken radio by the way and you're... you're going to break up with me!

    • (While Sydney goes towards the boat in Tunisia, talking to Dixon who is on the beach)
Sydney: So tell me the truth. Who do you like better Mary Ann or Ginger?

    • (Talking about Tippin getting closer to SD-6.)
Sloane: What concerns me is that this doesn't seem to concern you.
Jack: There is a difference between concern and assassination.

    • (After Jack had beaten up and threatened Will.)
      Sydney: I'm taking Will tonight.
      Jack: You're doing what?
Sydney: Yeah. Emily told me to bring someone. Why?
      Jack: Nothing.

    • (Talking about something the CIA tech guys built.)
Vaughn: Now, they say it's bitchin', so I'm assuming it's bitchin'.

    • (Over dinner at Sloane's house Emily talks about an article Will wrote)
Emily: Anyway Maroma was one of these workers smuggled in from Mexico, their boss was a monster.
Will: He was the devil, he was literally the devil.
      Sloane: How's that?
Emily: Well, if you spoke out against him, if you tried to leave, he'd have you killed.
(Jack stares at Sydney, she stares at Sloane)

    • (Francie's returning the wedding presents)
Francie: "Dear Aunt Stephanie, unfortunately as my mom has informed you, the wedding is off. So I'm returning your kind gift of a coffee maker, because as it turns out the man to whom I was engaged is a deceitful, two-faced, sex-crazed jackass. All my love, Francie"
      Sydney: It's not too harsh.
Francie: I want to read you one more. This is the restrained one.

    • Sloane: Ivankov's body was delivered last night to K-Directorate headquarters in Saint Petersburg.
      Dixon: Delivered how?
Sloane: Commercial freight carrier, packed inside a crate of frozen Atlantic cod fish... (Sloane changes the picture on the monitor) Lavro Kessar, K-Directorate's second in command, he hasn't been seen since that night. We believe he's being held by Mr. Sark as a captive. Unless K-Directorate delivers Rambaldi's manuscripts to Sark's employer, "The Man"... they should be expecting more fish in Saint Petersburg.

    • Will: David, I hate myself for letting you down, okay? But right now, I'm you. I'm exactly where you were before your wife was killed. Now, if I do what you suggest... David, they're going to kill my family... my friends. If you could go back, if you could change it, you wouldn't hesitate, would you?

    • Will: (talking to the man in prison) I was kidnapped yesterday. By - I don't know who they were but I'm assuming they work for SD-6. David, they threatened me. They told me to drop the story.

    • Sloane: Some of the text is Italian, but most of it is in code. Code we haven't been able to break. Who was this man, Sydney? What did he see? What did Rambaldi see? (Flipping through the pages of Rambaldi's book, he comes to page forty-seven, the blank one.) Those who know about him - various agencies, a few in the private sector - they're spending millions to answer these questions. Millions. Men would die for this book. Men have died. You know, Sydney, the work we're doing here, trying to figure out who Rambaldi was, what he was working on, is becoming an obsession for me.

    • Will: Sydney tells me you're doing analysis for the bank.
Jack: Strategy. Investment strategy. Arvin made me an offer I couldn't refuse.
Emily: Oh, that sounds like my husband!

    • Vaughn: That's where we want it (Referring to the bug). Especially now that SD-6 has the Rambaldi book. The C.I.A.'s been studying those photos you took.
Sydney: Then they turned out all right?
Vaughn: There's one blank page. Well, C.I.A. sci-tech says that of the few Rambaldi documents they've recovered, the forty-seventh page is always particularly significant. This blank page was number forty-seven. Your father's strategizing on how to get it out of SD-6 analysis and replace it with a counterfeit. But in the meantime, we're just hoping we learn something with that bug.

    • Sloane: (watching a video of Will's visit to the prison) Lompoc prison, about two hours ago. The man talking to Tippin is David McNeil, software designer. About eight years ago, he created an encryption system that we wanted to acquire but he wouldn't sell. We don't have audio, but we got hold of the prison log. This is Tippin's third visit to McNeil in the last two weeks. You and I talked about Tippin some time ago. You convinced me that he was just a harmless metro reporter, far from a credible threat.

    • Sydney: (holding a paperclip) This is a bug?
Vaughn: It's good, huh? You should see the guys who make it, it's like they've never seen sunlight.
Sydney: Well, you should meet Marshall.

  • ALLUSIONS (1)

    • Sydney: So tell me the truth. Who do you like better Mary Ann or Ginger?

The question "Ginger or Mary Ann?" is regarded to be a classic pop-psychological question when given to American men of a certain age as an insight into their characters, or at least their desires as regarding certain female stereotypes. The two woman are characters from Gilligan's Island. which ran on the CBS network from 1964 to 1967, and has run more or less continuously since in reruns.
