  • Best Episode Yet

I am watching this on Netflix. This was super good with the whole family fighting together. The tension between Mom and Dad on the train when she was changing clothes, Man you could just feel it. Sure the fighting might have been a little off, but remember these are the stars and what else could you expect that all 3 would live it out. This is a great episode. Sure Mom was KGB but what a super episode this was, don't know if she is turned or not cant wait till next episode to see truth. Had to stop and write this. This is a great series almost better than Covert Affairs, although Annie is so much prettier. Kinda reminds me of Nikita, although she too much better looking.moreless
  • Family business.

Mm.. I think the best part of this episode was that the whole Sydney family was together on the mission and the way those three interacted. Sydney having trust to her mother but his father not letting her out of his site for a moment - and the way they did in train, almost missing jumping point and then the end..

But the other storylines.. I do not know.. they were all little diminished by the action in the end. I do liked the development on Sark side.. the way Sydney was afraid that he might know she is double agent.. and that Emily is still alive.. but we were quite sure on it before.moreless
  • Family vacation to Cachemira

    Cualquiera!

  • Review

I didn't think that this episode is all that great. Arvin receiving the finger of his "dead or maybe not so dead" wife was really the only good part of the episode. The family trio that is the Bristow family is getting a tad bit old. Sydneys trusts mom, Dad refuses to trust mom, Moms true mission through turning herself in is still unknown to everyone. It has been this way for quite a while now and sending them on this mission is more or less going to depend on what happens in the next episode then what happens in this one. I thought the gunfire scene at the end was too unreal for me to really get into it. Having threeof them take down 8-10 men while they were wide out in the open like that was a little too dumb for me I thought. Irvina taking off the necklace I thought the explosion would be instant, not take it off 3 seconds later it goes boom boom. Wills storyline has hit the point where I dont really know / care why Im watching it. We all ready figured everything he has figured out...out all ready so I need him to reach some sort of endpoint with that. Worst episode of the second season so far I though, not the best as our rankings say.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (3)

    • It is established that the day Sydney walked in the CIA building and met Vaughn (cf. "Truth Be Told") was October 1st.

    • Two months have passed since Irina turned herself in to the CIA.

    • Kendall says that "the Uzbeks have admitted and Defence Intelligence has confirmed" that the six suitcase bombs went missing six months earlier. Why would the DIA need to confirm something the Uzbeks had admitted?

  • QUOTES (12)

    • Sark: I had a run in with Sydney Bristow this morning. She may be the only one who suspects that I in fact have not turned myself in.
Sloane: I've been a presence in Sydney's life since she was born... Sydney will believe whatever I tell her to.
Sark: And her father? He must often battle the temptation to tell her the truth about SD-6. I'd hate to see Jack's paternal instincts compromise our objective.

    • Will: (to Vaughn) Look, except for you, Sydney, and Jack, everybody I know - and a lot of people I don't - they think I'm a lying junkie, okay? And helping you, doing something for the CIA, it felt like a chance to do something that mattered again, you know? Like, I don't know, maybe I went through all this crap for a reason.

    • Vaughn: I didn't think Devlin, my superior, would mind me having you research this, but he did and he ordered me to let you go.
Will: Hold on. Wait a second. There's something here. Okay, look, I'll narrow the test scores down to a small group of kids. Now Devlin won't be able to deny the value of that.
Vaughn: He thinks since you're a journalist, since you've been trained to report what you know, that you're a security risk.

    • Irina: I cannot give you details because I don't trust the CIA. They almost had me executed two weeks ago. The only way for me to maintain my value is to tell you only what you need to know in order to stay ahead of Sloane. And all you need to know now is that if I'm not allowed to leave, everything you've worked to accomplish will be lost.

    • Sydney: You saved Vaughn's life. I'm grateful to you for that but I haven't made up my mind yet if I should trust you.
Irina: And yet here you are. I never told Sark about your status as a double agent, Sydney. That doesn't mean you're safe. Tell me, what intelligence has he provided Sloane?

    • Sydney: Sloane wouldn't agree to partner with him unless Sark made it worth his while. Do you have any idea what they're after?
Jack: Given the scope of Sark's previous contacts and operations, he could be offering almost anything. What concerns me more is that your mother knew we were double agents before she turned herself in. She may have told Sark.
      Sydney: I'll find out.
Jack: Before you do, consider this: two months ago she surrendered to the CIA. Yesterday, Sark made a back-door agreement with Sloane that places him inside SD-6. Do you believe that's just a coincidence?

    • Vaughn: This watch belonged to my father. It's broken now, but it used to keep perfect time. And when he gave it to me, he said, "You could set your heart by this watch." It stopped October 1st, the day we met.
(They stare at each other. Sydney is about to say something and their beepers go off.)
      Vaughn: Kendall.
      Sydney: Me Too.

    • Irina: Agent Vaughn has trouble sleeping, when you are in the field.
Sydney: I doubt he told you that.
Irina: He did not have to tell me. I could see it in his eyes and I see it yours.
Sydney: Agent Vaughn is my colleague.
Irina: You are so willing to take risks for your country. Why aren't you willing to do the same for your own happiness?
Jack: I hardly think you've earned the right to give anyone relationship advice.
Irina: Jack, Sydney is smart and she's strong but she's not happy.
      Sydney: Okay wait a sec-
Jack: After a twenty year absence you've gleaned that from the cumulative half hour you've spent in her presence.
Irina: I knew it the moment I saw her. I'm her mother.
Jack Your motherhood is a biological fact with no substance of value in Sydney's life.
Sydney: Hey! (To Irina) Stop baiting him! (To Jack) Stop being such an easy target! We're going to be traveling together for the next two days you can't jump down her throat every time she opens her mouth.

    • Will: Nothing? (Syd shakes her head negatively) Nothing's wrong? Syd, if we'd just met I'd know something's wrong.

    • Jack: When it comes to Irina Derevko, my judgment's proven to be...impaired.

    • Marshall: (to Sark) Hi. Welcome. Don't kill me.

    • (Sark reports for his first day of work at SD-6)
Sydney: I'm here to remind you what I hope is obvious but I don't wanna overestimate your intelligence: if you burn me, I'll burn you.
Sark: Sydney I couldn't reveal to Sloane that you conspired to kill him, without also revealing my involvement... of course I never had any intention of going through with it, I simply needed to gain his trust.
Sydney: You know what I think? You're just a dog looking for a new master.
Sark: No need to worry Sydney... we're colleagues now. I'll see you at the office.
