Not my favorite episode the storylines are ok but where not interesting enough to make me jump for joy and the little twist at the end was not that exiting this episode was slower and not as fastest the other and when one episode slows down it becomes a little dull and not fun to watch my favorite part is when Marshall kill the bug that the CIA put into the SD-6 computers even though that was a small part of the episode an ok episode not great but ok my over all rating is 7.8 for this episode end
And if you think last episode glues where enough we are getting, this episode continues to turning the story in who-knows-what direction. First what Sydney learns about her mother and FBI involvement - poor girl, every time she thinks she knows all about her father, there is something else.. And Will continuing Danny's murder glues and gets to that woman and we all knew how it will end - she will be gone without trace.
And the cases.. getting more and more exciting. i really most say those two episodes have been the best one so far - always motion, action, something secret going on.
I really love this episode of Alias because of Agent Vaughn's storyline. We finally kind of get a real characterization of him and the last scene where he attends the funeral, it makes me tear up. I enjoyed the scene when Vaughn and Sydney are at the golf course and he gives her the "bug" and she playfully retorts, it's a way cute bit of flirting that foreshadows what happens later on. The scene with the funeral is what really makes this episode one that I will watch over and over. Michael Vaughn is my favorite character on Alias and this episode is proof of why.
Sydney goes into a mental institution undercover in order to find a man who can tell them where a man they need is buried. Marshall finds the bug that the CIA put into their computer system. Sydney believes that her father is responsible for her mother's death. Francie and Charlie talk about the situation and he tells her that he's not having an affair, but he wants to sing! That's who the woman was, she is helping him fulfill his dream! Will finds out the true identity of the woman, but she leaves in a hurry.
This episode was really good! The ending was a cliffhanger that I didn't expect! Most of the episodes seemed long to me, but this one seemed short. I really liked it! It gets a 10 out of 10!
There was a lot more drama in this episode then there has been in the past couple of episodes. There was a lot to do with Sydneys girlfriend going to her mans concert, which was actually a really boring storyline. When he was off being mysterious I was excited to learn what it was he was doing - possible a secret agent in the SD-6 that no one knew about or something. But to learn it was something so small and random like him simply being embarassed about singing in front of his girlfriend seemed almost like a coup-out for the writers. I also didn't like the girl skipping town on Will, though I suppose it was just to keep him nipping at the case. Now that she is gone - he will continue to investigate a story he was ready to drop before he met her. Im still very excited to learn what it is that Sydneys father is hiding about her mother in an upcoming episode - though I think we might be waiting a bit for that knowing JJ
Like last episode, Reckoning sees things getting a hell of a lot worse for Syndey with yet another mission going awry, this time resulting in her being abandoned and alone in a mental asylum ran by a creepy psychopath.
Whilst the episode is mostly filler to bridge the gap between last episode's cliffhanger and the asylum two-parter, there were a lot of fun moments, mainly the London mission. Sydney's break-in was massively entertaining, and the amount of tension that was raised was awesome, in particular the moment when she is stuck on top of the hot pipes with a security guard stalking around underneath her. It's moments like those that really suck you into the show, and, despite the scene being mostly ridiculous, you can't wait to see what will happen next.
Outside of the spy wackiness, Francie's storyline continued to grate. It would have been interesting if Charlie turned out to be some evil mastermind or something, but the revelation that he is a musician immediately falls flat, since it feels completely out of place on a show like Alias.
Will's storyline is still intriguing, especially as Eloise Kurtz disappears at the end of the episode and seemingly her entire existence has been wiped out. Will works better when he isn't a threat to Sydney, but the mystery surrounding his investigation of Danny's death still works, despite the audience not being on his side.
Whilst it's not a memorable episode, Reckoning still has enough glimmers of genius that make it watchable. But fast-forward through the first 40 minutes, and you won't miss anything important.
