  • What an episode

This was mind blowing.. First it looked like it is going to be just a good episode with all the way Will got involved but turning the middle, it was just transformed into amazing.

First and mostly it was about Will - he getting closer and closer to the truth until he is in trouble and Sydney gets to her and he now knows all. And how hard it most have been for her - she needed her friends not to know.. to be normal..

and the end.. that man with gun.. does it really ends like that?

or Solan and his wife.. now getting better only that he could kill her.moreless

The epsiode started off like I thought it would with a lot of action that was suspended from the end of the very last episode. I still think the show is in a bit of a drama slump. The show really hasn't ever picked up the drama like it did in the earlier seasons. Perhaps its just Sloans wife storyline isnt as interesting as some of the other ones, but the magic I felt during the first couple of discs seems to be gone. But thats just from the filler scenes, the rest of the show is still clicking on all cylinders. I thought Will finding out about Sydney was huge as it should set up some interesting interaction in the next couple of episodes (including next season if WIll makes it to there). Pretty solid episode overall, not my favorite of the series or anything though.moreless

Syd:"You should have looked at his face in Paris. It was like he was looking at a stranger."

I'm astonished! What an episode!!!Alias showed for one more time how subversive can really be.In this episode Syd's two worlds collided. Will learned everything about Syd and she is emotionally crashed after what happened in Paris...

Ahh..Syd...she is my favourite character. She is just amazing. In this episode she put on her sexiest disguise. How she saved Will from those Khasinau's men,how she kicked their ass was just amazing...

Now Will is forced to enter the spy world or to enter a protection program.Poor Will..Why had he to undergo all those things? When he saw Syd with that red wig and those clothes,he faced the shock of his life.He couldn't believe in his eyes.I was kinda sure that after that he wouldn't want to see anyone from the Bristow familly again, but i was wrong. He told Syd that he loved her..What a touching moment. Will, please, don't die...

The other great theme here was for one more time the Alliance,Sloane and his dying wife. The Alliance decided to let her pass away in the SD-6 hospital, but the results of her tests showed that she would recover. She feels great, but Sloane knows that she will die anyway.I'm really sorry for her.I'm a little bit sorry for him, too, but he deserves it.

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (3)

    • When Will is undercover in Paris, CIA gave him the name Patrice Laffont. In France it's actually the name of a famous presenter.

    • Sodium pentothal, a.k.a. the "Truth Serum," is commonly used to extract information form prisoners in these kind of shows. However, while under the effect of the drug, the patient may lose his inhibitions, but he does not lose self-control, which means that Will would not have told anything he did not want to.

    • Sloane says Sark is "on a trans-Atlantic flight" after escaping from the nightclub with Khasinau. So, Sark flew from Paris, to the Americas... then back to Geneva? Wouldn't it have been easier to just fly from Paris to Geneva?

  • QUOTES (13)

    • (Jack prepares Will for his meet with Khasinau)
Jack: You'll be picked up by men in a van, they'll be armed.
      Will: Okay.
Jack: You'll be blindfolded and taken to another location.
Will: Okay, I know what that feels like.
Jack: But they will not hurt you, they need you.
Will: But they're going to take me to "deep throat".
Jack: Or someone who works for him.

    • Sloane: It seems that Mr. Sark's loyalty to Khasinau disappeared the moment we kidnapped him.

    • Sloane: (walking into Sark's detention cell) Well this might not seem like a particularly good day for you. You'd be surprised, we have people here trained in torture, and they are so good at what they do, I sometimes take them for granted.

    • (Sloane at The Alliance meeting)
Sloane: I feel rather awkward sitting here... asking you to allow my wife to die of cancer.
Alain Christophe: Arvin, the agreement is simple: people with any unauthorized information regarding SD-6 or any SD cell, must be eliminated.
Sloane: My wife is being eliminated... By cancer.

    • Sydney: He is my friend. He is, like, one of my best friends.
      Vaughn: I understand that.
Sydney: No, you don't. You get to tell your friends that you work for the CIA while I go home and look desperately for a tiny moment that I can be honest with anyone about anything. Now that Will knows the truth - he's never going to trust me again. You should have seen his face in Paris. It was like he was looking at a stranger.
Vaughn: But he wasn't. He was looking at you. Maybe for the first time. He was looking at you.

    • Vaughn: Anyway, I read your debrief. So did Devlin. We'll deal with the loss of the Rambaldi document later but first you should know that, uh, offices of security is drawing up a contingency plan to keep Will Tippin safe.
      Sydney: What kind of contingencies?
Vaughn: Witness protection. Worst-case scenario, recruitment.
      Sydney: Absolutely not!

    • Sydney: None of this changes the fact that you were using Will!
Jack: He was already being used! It's no coincidence that out of all the reporters in the world, he was chosen.
      Sydney: What are you saying?
Jack: For some reason, Khasinau is trying to expose us.

    • Weiss: I don't want your thanks. I want it to stop.
      Vaughn: Look, Sydney's my responsibility...
Weiss: Mike, I'm not going to trivialize your relationship with her by calling it a crush...
      Vaughn: A crush?
Weiss: But whatever it is, it's starting to affect me and if that sounds selfish to you, I was hoping to retire fully vested. I know you genuinely care for her. I do, too. But there is a line that we have been sworn not to cross. We're about a mile past that.
Vaughn: I don't know how to be Sydney's handler without making it personal.
      Weiss: Figure out a way.

    • Sark: I understand I am in no position to demand anything, but for the record, I'm far more comfortable talking over a glass of Chateau Petreuse... '82.

    • Jack: Kretchmer briefed me on Denpasar. It was a sloppy operation. Your pursuit of your mother is clouding your judgment. You can't afford to continue and at the moment, I can't protect you. I haven't regained Sloane's trust. He still hasn't reinstated me to active duty. I'm not even privy to his briefings.
Sydney: Then you haven't heard that SD-6 got Sark.

    • Will: (to Sydney and Jack) Who the hell are you people?!

    • Sloane: (to Sydney) It was your duty to report Emily to security section. You didn't. And that's more than I did for you.

    • Jack: You're going to tell your contact you want a meeting. A meeting to take place at your contact's discretion.
Will: Why would he lead me to you knowing that you'd want to flush him out?
Jack: He only told you my name so you would realize that my threat to you was a bluff. That I would never hurt Sydney, even if you continue your investigation. He didn't expect you'd have the guts to contact me.
Will: Oh, well, I'll assume that's a compliment.
