Written by: Erica Messer and Debra J. Fisher To save Sydney from Dixon and the other SD-6 agents, Vaughn throws a flash grenade. It stuns the SD-6 gang long enough for Sydney to escape but with Dixon hot on her trail. Vaughn manages to capture Sark and exchange the vial. Sydney and Dixon engage in combat and Dixon beats her, cutting her arm and drawing his gun. Vaughn disregards Weiss's order to stay with Sark and rushes to save Sydney. In doing so, he calls her "Freelancer" in front of Dixon and Sark is taken by SD-6. Dixon later remembers hearing the term "Freelancer" when he was shot on Mt. Aconcagua and is now suspicious of Sydney. Jack is determined to find out who "Deep Throat" is and uses Will as bait. He has Will set up a meeting. "Deep Throat" wants Will to meet him in Paris. Sloane meets with the Alliance in London and threatens to resign if they do not grant his wife a reprieve. He shows them how much revenue SD-6 has made and explains that his wife is already dying of cancer. The Alliance agrees to think about it if Sloane helps them get Rambaldi pages back from Khasinau. Sloane wants to kill Khasinau but the Alliance believes they need to find out what he is after first. Later, the Alliance grants Emily the reprieve but it is bittersweet because Emily and Sloane find out that her cancer has gone into remission. Weiss and Vaughn have words. Weiss tells Vaughn that he had better deal with his feelings for Sydney because it's not only putting Vaughn's job in danger it is also putting his job on the line and he won't stand for it. Vaughn tries to distance himself from Sydney but finds that he cannot. Sloane uses a captured Sark to set up a meeting with Khasinau, in Paris. While Sydney poses as a lounge singer, Dixon swaps out Rambaldi pages. Will, also in Paris, is put into a car and taken to the same club where Sydney is. She sees him and decides she must rescue him. In an intense fight scene, they escape but so does Sark. Will is shocked to find out that she is a secret agent and Sydney is angry with Jack for involving him. Jack explains that Will had been pursuing the story of Danny's death and that someone had contacted him with information about SD-6 and with information about Jack. Jack thinks that person is trying to expose SD-6 publicly, which is why they were trying to capture him. Will is relocated to a CIA safe house while the CIA figures out what to do with him. The possibilities are witness protection or recruitment, neither of which pleases Sydney. She is afraid Will is going to hate her for lying to him but he does not. Instead, he tells her he doesn't love her for what she does or who she is, he just loves her. Later, Sark finds the safe house and kills the CIA men then shoots Will point blank.
