Alot of people are quick to say that season 3 was bad. I can't believe this.

I thought season 3 was great. Not as good as 1 and 2 but it had a whole new element to it. It was different, and thats a good thing. It needed to be different.

Since SD-6 is gone and Sydney could not be a double agent anymore, Alias needed a new intriguing element to it. I thought Lauren Reed being a double was perfect for two reasons:

    1. Vaughn has his own Irena complex. A wife that marries him as part of her job as a foreign spy. This makes him understand Jack better and makes the character of Vaughn darker and full of anger. Good character development in my opinion.

    2. It was so much fun watching Sydney be a double and how missions had to be adjusted so that she could help out both sides with out SD-6 knowing anything. This was what make seasons 1 and 2 so much fun. Season 3 couldn't have this and having the double be a spy inside the CIA was a great way to change that. Doubles are fun to watch, especially when they are evil.

Lauren added a new dynamic to the Sydney/Vaughn love story also. Things would be to easy if they could just be together. They are spies. They need adversity in their relationship. They are a better couple to watch when they have to overcome emotional things to be together. First, Vaughn was her handler and they couldn't be together because it would risk blowing her cover. Now, Sydney disappears and is supposedly dead so Vaughn moves on. Yet another bump in the road for their relationship to overcome. A show like this can't have their relationship be all peaches and cream all the time.

Season 3 was awesome. This show keeps gaining steam. Its addictive and one of the best tv shows on today.

I fail to see why this finale was the lowest rated one to date. In terms of being good from begining to end, this epiosde surpasses "Almost Thirty Years" and "The Telling" without a question for me. "The Telling" did have a more gamechanger as a finale and something that would leave us wanting some answers for the long break, but this episode and this finale was the best written finale to date and actually makes me stunned at how its rated a 9.13, it should be 9.78 or whatever "The Telling" is.

I wondered at the end of the last episode how the finale was going to be written and I must say the finale started off with a bang (no pun intended) that left me speechless as soon as the credits rolled for the opening. Sarks capture was kind of surprising, I always thought he would make it through the season and Lauren would be the one to befall a terrible fate. Sarks interactions with the cast in the next season (if he makes it that far) will be interesting. Sark and Vaughn in the interrogation room was another great scene and I think both of the actors involved did a great job there in making the scenes as good as they were. We have seen scenes like this before on the show, but the acting in this scene made it seem that much better.

The betrayal of Katya was interesting, making me wonder when she flipped and what her endgame was. She kept Vaughn and Sydney alive on a mission not to long ago, makes me wonder why now she had the sudden change of heart.

The close to ending scene with Lauren and Sydney fighting was another prime example of Alias and how well they can do the action adventure scenes. I think Vaughn showing up at the end of the scene in order to be the one that killed Lauren for the final time was awesome. The ending scene is obviously something that we will not fully understand what is going to happen with that until sometime next season. Jack had some kind of plan with his daughter, using her for something. Im sure there relationship will never be the same again and what happens in the first episode of season four can be anyones guess.
  • This episode is a fine example of Alias' method: In just one second, the whole world can collapse upside down, leaving you shocked. Incredible writing and endless inspiration are Alias' great resources.

Alias' has tons of what every other series will never be able to have: Plot twists. They never stop amaze. It's like every now and then, the writers come and think: He shouldn't be the good guy; We'll make this one good for now; In a couple more episodes this one will turn out bad again; And so on…

It's the magic of Alias, but it can also freak you out. Because you finally find yourself believe in someone, and then BOOM, it explodes right into your faces, leaving you with angry feeling and endless road of question.

Why did Katya Derevko had to be bad? And I'm asking, WHY? They built her character twice during this season, as Irina's sister who helps Jack getting the evil guys, The Covenant. She even rescues Sydney and Vaughn out of Chechnya, somehow "blowing her cover". But then we reveal in the last episode that she's actually bad, she works for the Covenant and she didn't hesitate to kill Sydney!

Lauren is finally dead. Ever since I knew her, I knew something wrong. And when they discovered that she's working for the Covenant, we knew that the royal couple, Sydney and Vaughn, will be together again. But in what cost!

But even before she's being killed, she had to tell Sydney the code to a vault is Vienna. There, Sydney found the worst thing of all. But what is it? Was she an experiment of her father? We already know that from the second season. Jack trained her to be a spy ever since she was 6. So what could be worse then that?

Arr… Alias never stops surprising me. And even though I'm kind of angry on the latest twists, I'll never stop watching Alias. But I gave 9 to this episode. Because of this actual fact: Don't make my good guys bad.
  • Yet again, Alias keeps you wanting more.

After watching the season three finale you’re left with the unanswered question of, what has Sydney discovered? That’s the cliff-hanger, and it doesn’t in anyway beat last season’s cliff-hanger of “You’ve been gone for nearly two years”. Never the less it’s still has you thinking and wondering what’s going to happen next. The season three finale ties up all the lose ends quite well. There’s the final battle between Lauren and Sydney, which is quite a good fight, but I guess of course Michael Vaughn has to be the one to kill his treacherous wife, and does so by shooting her five or six times. Some would say that’s a bit overkill, but hey it’s extremely joy able to watch. All in all this was an ok season finale and it’s guaranteed to make you want to watch the start of season four.

What a brillant-start, Lauren disguised as Sidney, i still can't believe Sark was stupid enough to get caught, i mean for a bad guy u would think he would found an escape route. Seeing the CIA building being blown up by charges was brillant, i can't believe no-one noticed that she dropping charges all over the place, you would think all CIA personal would be wearing bullet-proof vest. seeing Marshall get shot was good but i like how he crawled to set the alarm.

Vaughn, i really like what they did with this chacter but when he captured Lauren i really like the fact he was going to just rough her up but i should known she had some back-up. Then when Vaughn woke up and told us who it is i couldn't believe it. i really like how Sidney gave her an empty gun and when she pulled trigger. That was brillant.

The fight between Laren and Sidney was good but i really like the fact she revealed jack's secret, what a clifhanger, but didn't it mentioned before Sidney was a project by her father?.

    i can't believe i have to wait for S4 next year :(
