Why I was hoping something more intense? I think after all I had heard about show, finally watching it - it looks somehow too slow. There are those gorgeous intense moment, action going on, something happening but other times, it just... story develops slow. Very bumpy style and that little makes the watching not so enjoyable as it could be.

I like some turns in this episode - like digging up the grave and fining nuclear bomb. Ups, that was stunning. And then the way the episode ended - something to make me eagerly wish to see next one. But in the end, despite all the action, I do remember those slow moments when I took my remote control and pushed fast forward.

A solid second episode. Lots of action, emotion and wacky wigs!

The relationships between all the characters were developed nicely, especially between Sydney and Jack, and Sydney and Vaughn – the scene in the trailer was well done, both of them working out where they stood with each other.

The mission in Moscow was a lot of fun – the outfits, the fights, and the Russian bad guys all make Alias the show it is, and I have to say Jennifer Garner seems pretty adept at learning new languages.

Also I loved all the Sydney/CIA interaction especially the whole passing the disc over thing at the airport…exciting stuff. Speaking of, Sydney seemed to be in a bit of a sticky situation at the end of the episode, but I'm sure she'll find her way out – and look good doing it!

Overall, this was a good follow up to the pilot, paving the way for even more excitement and action.

Sydney has returned to SD-6. She works with Dixon on a mission to retrieve some documents. She also finds out that her father was involved with Danny's murder. She gets angry at him for knowing. After she slips up and lets SD-6 know about a nuclear bomb, she must travel to Cairo to retrieve it. Will starts researching more into Danny's death. Sydney's father tells her that he tried to stop Danny from getting murdered.

This episode was really good! I like all the action in this show! I also like the music! I have to admit that it's really confusing at times, but I don't mind. This episode gets a 9.5 out of 10!

Chracter Devolopment was the recurring theme of this episode with Sydney, her father, and CIA agent Vaughn getting a lot of Character Devolopment in this episode. Sydney has seemed to have gotten over the detah of her what was soon-to-be-husband and moved on as three months have elapsed since his death. She learns her father had a hand in his death and swears him off, only to return to him later when she learns that he tried not to have her man killed off by being him a ticket to singapore. This is the first episode where we learn that Sydney is going to be a double agent - working for the CIA and posing in the SD-6. I thought the scene at the airport with them making a copy of something and then dropping it back off to her was pretty intense. I also liked the ending cliffhanger, having a gun held to her face on the verge of being captured yet again on a mission she could not afford to get caught on.

The second episode of Alias was truley the startign point for what the show was to become. There is so much that happens. We see that things aren't just ok between Vaughn and Sydney, which is nice to see. sydney is still rather naive about SD-6 and how much it's going to take to bring them down. She still doesn't trust the CIA fully. It makes things so much more interesting. What's also fun is to watch Will investigate Sydney's fiancee's death. Even the start of Sydney and her father trying to create some sort of relationship with each other after years of growing apart. This is also the first time that the audience is left with a huge cliffhanger which is a rather well borrowed tool nowadays, with the other Abrams show "Lost," and the extremely popular "Heroes."

Playing like the second part of the pilot, So It Begins effortlessly sets up some major storylines for the year, introduces new characters, and features some spectacular performances from all involved, in particular Jennifer Garner, who proves she's adept at almost every acting technique required for a show of this genre.

One of the main reasons this episode worked was that the death of Danny inadvertently strengthened the relationship between Jack and Sydney. In the episode, Syd discovers that Jack knew about his death before it happened, which sickens her. Later on, she realizes that he tried to stop his murder by sending the couple on a trip to Singapore. This development really proved how much Jack cares about his daughter, and their relationship completely changes from here on.

As much as I like Will later on, you just can't help but hate him for investigating Danny's death. Sydney is his best friend, and to ignore her own plea to leave it alone and go ahead and investigates it anyway is completely out of order. But, coupled with his obvious love for her, I guess its Will trying to do a good thing for her, despite her dislike of the whole idea, and the fact that it could lead to him getting killed.

So It Begins also introduced, in more obvious style than the pilot, the undercover outfits that become a signature look for the show. In the space of only a couple of minutes here, Sydney goes from a classy rich woman in an elegant gown, to a maid, to a latex-dress-wearing blonde ho. Obviously, the latter looked ridiculous on her, but the use of all her wacky outfits (plus Dixon's hilarious golden robes, which he seems to wear on every mission) help give Alias its own identity on TV, and pushes it further away from similar espionage shows like La Femme Nikita or Mission: Impossible.

An atmospheric and tense episode which is almost overloaded with action, I loved how So It Begins, and many other episodes during season one, ended with a cliffhanger. It's not really needed though, as, even without the cliffhanger ending, audiences would be foolish to not tune into the next episode.

This episode certainly started off with a bang. It opens with a flashback of Sydney running from guards. There's gunshots, running, and more running...and Sydney escapes. Cut to the present where Sydney is telling Vaughn everything she knows about SD-6, but he reveals to her that it is a much bigger organization than she ever imagined...

Syd and Dixon go to Moscow to get some information. They run into complications, as usual, but they escape with the information.

Will, meanwhile, gets suspicious over Danny's death and investigates....

Sydney is then sent to a Virgina cemetery to hunt down a weapon from the Cold War. She digs up what turns out to be a nuclear weapon that is triggered by her. She calls Marshall who helps her disarm it.

Vaughn is angry with her, as it turns out that SD-6 sold the weapon to a terrorist. She goes to retrieve it but is caught at gunpoint...

Great episode, all in all. Not as good as the pilot but it's not off by much. Syd is still hurt over Danny, and it's nice to see the writers didn't make her get over it that quick - adds believability to the show.

The episode also had some very tense sequences to it. But the only thing I found odd was that Sydney would dig up a "grave" in broad daylight. Surely someone would have seen her...?

This episode ends with one of those endings that become signature for the series...in the middle of a tense scene that leaves you begging for more.
