Episode Recap

Sydney is hiding in the air vents and praying that Cole's bullets will not hit her. She has no room to move and is surely going to be shot when…Jack walks into the vault room and surrenders. He gave himself up to allow Sydney to remain undetected. Cole and his men take Jack and put him with the other hostages.

Sydney goes back to the basement and finds a note and a map that Jack has left for her. Jack explains that the fail-safe alarm has been activated. If the vault is opened it will trigger an explosion. Before Cole is able to hack into the vault, Sydney has to disarm three charges of C-4. Jack has drawn her a map showing where the charges are located.

Dixon manages to take a PDA off the desk without Cole's men noticing. He sends an email to the real CIA. He asks them for help and details the attack. Vaughn receives the email and thinks they should send a team in to help. Agent Haladki has taken over control of the SD-6 case and he refuses to send a team. He says that they do not have enough proof of the attack and that it could be SD-6 setting them up.

Vaughn decides to break orders and go to Credit Dauphine. When he gets there he kills one of Cole's men who was waiting in the van. Vaughn calls Haladki and confirms the break-in. Even with this information, Haladki refuses to send help. Vaughn sneaks inside and runs into Sydney in the basement. They disarm the first charge and then split up to take out the last two charges.

As Sydney approaches the charge, Cole's men attack her. She takes them out. Cole, however, hears the gunfire and realizes that there is still an agent loose in the building. He gets on the announcement system and says that if Sydney's does not surrender, he will kill all of the hostages one by one. Cole picks Jack to be the first victim. Sydney gives herself up and is unable to disarm the last charge of C-4.

Marshall is sitting across from Sydney in the office and signals to her that her earring is actually a flash grenade. She detonates it and blinds the guards. She engages them and takes them out. After freeing the hostages, Sydney goes after Cole, who is about to open the vault.

Will finds out that the key opens a locker. He locates the locker and opens it. Inside, he finds an autopsy on David McNeil's wife. Her death was originally listed as a suicide, but this new autopsy shows that she was murdered. Will meets with Kelly McNeil and makes her promise that she will go into hiding. If she doesn't, she will suffer the same fate as her mother.

Weiss learns of Vaughn's call to Haladki. The CIA records all incoming calls and Weiss uses the call to confirm the SD-6 attack. He heads a rescue team that is sent to Credit Dauphine to help stop Cole and his men.

Jack goes to the SD-6 torture room where he finds Sloane. He is weak from the torture and they have trouble trying to free him from the chair. They are running out of time so Jack resorts to his last option…he cuts off Sloane's index finger.

Jack uses Sloane's finger to cancel the fail-safe only seconds before Cole opens the vault. Inside, he finds a small metal box. The box is marked with the symbol of Rambaldi, <0>. As he tries to escape with the box, Sydney attacks him. She takes him out and captures him. She hands Cole and the box over to the CIA. Vaughn opens the box and finds a vail of clear liquid inside.

Sloane and the rest of SD-6 are left believing that the break-in was successful. Sloane believes that Cole has gotten away with the Rambaldi box. He has no idea that the artifact, and McKenas Cole, is in the possession of the CIA…
