In doing do, she feels she is only helping SD-6. Vaughn shows her the map of SD-6. On it are red marks showing the groups she has helped destroy, which rejuvenates her spirit. At the apartment, Francie thinks there is a rat in the kitchen. While looking under the refrigerator, Will receives a call from the "Voice". The mysterious caller isn't pleased that he has abandoned the story and wants him to continue with the investigation of SD-6. Will explains that he was kidnapped and he is no longer interested in the story. He hangs up but the voice calls back, saying only, "It was Jack Bristow". When Sydney comes home, Francie goes on a tangent about how tricky rats are and that you can't just leave cheese, you have to set a trap. Sydney gets the idea to set a trap for Khasinau but she'll need the CIA's help. Vaughn convinces Devlin that the plan will work and that he is the right man to act as back up. Because Khasinau wants the ampoule containing the solution that Cole tried to steal from SD-6, Sydney's plan is to break into the Kherefu Art Museum in Algiers, make it look as though more Rambaldi artifacts were taken and then spread the word that there is a 2nd ampoule with the same liquid on the market. Sydney visits Emily Sloane in the hospital before she leaves. Emily is sick from the chemotherapy used to treat her cancer. While there, Emily tells Sydney that friends and family are more important than work and then she explains that she knows Arvin never left intelligence. Sydney thinks Sloane told her but Emily says she figured it out for herself. She thinks what Sloane does is good, and she is proud of him. Unbeknownst to them, SD-6 is monitoring the room and heard everything Emily has said. Sloane gets a visit from the Alliance head of security and is informed that Emily's conversation is a breach and she must be eliminated. Sloane is angry but Agent Barcelo lets on that the Alliance knows Sloane killed Jean Briault and that if he doesn't interfere with Emily's fate; his standing within the Alliance will improve. Sydney speaks with Sloane and asks for a week vacation. She says she is going to the desert. Preoccupied because of his wife's breach, Sloane grants her the vacation without question. In Algiers, Vaughn and Sydney pose as French insurance agents and have the power turned off to test the system. Sydney uses the interruption to break into the vault. The president of the museum arrives in the security office angry that the power was shut down and Sydney narrowly escapes. In order to get the word out to Khasinau Vaughn spreads the word that Raslak Jihad, committed the robbery. He lets it be known that the priceless liquid, which will reveal Rambaldi's invisible writing, is for sale. Khasinau jumps at the opportunity and a meeting is arranged in the Indonesian town of Denpassar. Khasinau himself won't be at the meeting, but instead he is sending his right hand man, Mr. Sark. Vaughn's plan is to bring the real solution, in the event Sark wants to validate it's authenticity, and then Sydney will switch it out after the deal is made, with a fake solution that contains an element that can be tracked by the CIA. Will writes his SD-6 story and gives it to another reporter, in case anything happens to him. Then he confronts Jack. Jack at first denies everything but later, meets Will in private and tells him that he is in intelligence but that Sydney doesn't know. Will spills his guts and tells Jack all about the source, the phone calls, and the pin he found. With this new information, Jack visits Devlin and accuses Haladki of being the mole. Devlin isn't happy with Jack. Jack wants to find the mole, so he decides to help Will. He asks Will to contact the "Voice" and let him/her know that he is back on the story. Sloane wants to find Khasinau and by tapping Edward Poole's secret cell phone, he gets Khasinau's phone number. This is how Sloane finds out about the transaction about to take place between Khasinau and the Raslak Jihad and he sends Dixon to recover the ampoule. In Denpassar, Sydney, wearing a veil in disguise, meets with Mr. Sark. Mr. Sark asks her to prove her Raslak Jihad identity and challenges her to a fight with a weapon called a latajang. She beats him and they make the deal. Just as Sydney is going to switch the vial, Dixon and some other SD-6 agents burst in. Mr. Sark quickly pockets the vial and Dixon looks at Sydney as though he may recognize her.
