Written by: John Eisendrath Irina is taken to a special Hannibal Lector type-cell in a secret facility in Los Angeles. In charge is FBI special task force assistant director Kendall. Jack and Sydney discuss how evil Irina is and Sydney says that she doesn't believe in the death penalty but hopes Irina dies for all the evil she's done. Sydney also tells Vaughn that she thinks Sloane killed Emily partially because of his immediate induction to the inner Alliance, as full partner. During Sloane's induction, he is injected with something in his neck. Later, he tells Sydney that her next mission is to retrieve a disk that is believed to contain blackmail information used by Irina to coerce people to do her will. Sydney and Dixon head to Rabat and gain entry to the suite where the disk is located in a safe. Sydney's counter-mission is to get the disk, give it to a CIA agent to copy it, and then take a duplicate disk minus the good Intel back to Sloane. Kendall wants Sydney to speak with Irina, but she refuses and Vaughn takes her side. Later, Kendall threatens Vaughn and Vaughn decides to speak with Irina. He tells her that Sydney will never talk to her unless she gives her a reason to. "I guarantee she won't see you unless you cooperate." Irina tells Vaughn to have Sydney pull the fire alarm next to the safe before it opens. Jack adamantly says no, Kendall and Vaughn tell Sydney to pull it but in the end she does not. An alarm is triggered costing Sydney valuable time and alerting Dixon to come to her rescue, so the counter-mission is not completed. Sloane has the disk and incriminating pictures of the daughter of Peter Fortson, the inventor of a T-Wave Satellite Camera. Sloane heads to Helsinki himself to obtain the camera. Not knowing what's on the disk, Sydney agrees to ask her mother. Vaughn warns her that it won't be easy. Jack isn't happy about it. Jack says, "She is the enemy," but Sydney justifies it by saying, "So is Sloane." Irina tells Sydney who Sloane is after and why (the T-Wave camera). She tells Sydney to trust her because she is her mother. Sydney breaks down crying once she leaves Irina's sight. Sydney and Vaughn go to Helsinki. Sydney is able to steal the camera before Sloane arrives but it is a very close call. Sloane isn't happy to discover the camera missing and has one of his men shoot Fortson in the leg. Will and Francie talk about his community service (he was sentenced to 100 hours). Will saw Francie having a discussion with a sketchy-looking man. Francie confesses that he is in organized crime and she was talking to him about her liquor license. Will suggests that he come to work for her because years after working the Metro desk, he has insider knowledge about how those things work. Sydney, after bringing the camera to Kendall, tells him that they are on the same side and he needs to start acting like it. Then Vicki tells her that Irina wanted someone to pass along her congratulations for a mission accomplished and Sydney decides it is time to depersonalize their relationship. She says to Irina, "You are not my mother. My mother was Laura Bristow. Laura Bristow died in a car accident 21 years ago. You are a traitor and a prisoner of the United States government. We will interact only when necessary. You will address me as Agent Bristow and answer only the questions I ask. No personal anecdotes, no comments about my job performance. No condolences or congratulations. Do you understand?"
