This episode put Alice in a very unusual situation: a beauty contest. Lured in by the clothing allowance, Finn gets Alice to represent the Gun & Rod Club. He then gives her the full amount of the clothing allowance and lets her go shopping on her own... two big mistakes!
Alice, of course, has no self-control and spends the majority of the money on a pair of leather pants. She then has only a little money left to buy three more outfits, and makes the best of it at the Thrift Store. The outfits she gets are lovely... if you happen to be a 55 year old woman!
Meanwhile, Alice's mom can't believe that Alice is participating in a beauty contest and vows to boycott it, but, of course, when the chips are down, ends up supporting Alice... or making her finish!
Overall, this was a funny episode, with some good laughs in it. I'm still getting to know the characters; I haven't read any of the books, but I'm going to start because of seeing the program on tv!
