Every Sunday, the Tolchucks go down to "Shop World" together. One Sunday, Raja says that "Shop World is like their church. Franny tells Raja that he is silly. Franny wants the family to go to church. Justin and Claire give Franny their Christmas lists. On Claire's is birth control pills.

When they go to their old church, it turns out to be a chicken restaurant. They replaced the church with it. Raja asks what denomination they are and Gary says Methodists. Raja wants to compare religions. They find a big church to go to. Gary goes to the houseware church store. He finds collectible Apostle plates. Justin and Raja are at the music section. Buck, a bully, is also there. Justin prays for something to stop Buck. He then trips and falls. Franny and Claire meet a church goer. Franny says that Claire would be interested in chastity club. Franny signs up to help with the nativity play. Claire does not want to join the club. Franny tells her that if she joins, she'll let Claire go on the pill. Justin talks to Dooley and his friends about his praying. There is a big test in Spanish and the teacher is ill. Justin was praying for it. Dooley tells Justin to pray for sex with a popular girl, Liz Sherman. At the chastity club, it's weird for Claire. Franny is directing the nativity pray and makes Claire the virgin Mary. Claire tells fellow members of the club that she is only going to the club for the pill. She meets a guy who is only going to get a car. Gary discovers a flaw in his plate collection. Claire loves play practice because of the boy who is playing Joseph. Franny finds Claire and him making out. Meanwhile, Justin says hi to Liz and she says hi back. He notices Dooley does the same thing. Justin gets mad at Dooley for praying for the same thing. They start a fight about prayer.

Franny worries about Claire. Gary doesn't want anything to do with church because he can't return the plates. Franny finds out that Claire is at church with the guy playing Joseph. She runs out to get her. Raja talks to Justin about him and Dooley. He tells them about their prayers. Raja talks to Justin about how he is abusing prayer. At church, Franny takes Claire from church. Claire is running lines with her fellow club members and she is right. Raja tells Franny that he figured out who Santa is. Raja talks to Franny about religion and Claire. Franny is questioning herself about her life. Franny goes to church because she needs faith. At school, Justin tries to talk to Dooley. He is not going to pray for sex with Liz Sherman. He even pray for Dooley. Dooley talks to Liz, but she knees him in the crotch. On Christmas Eve, the Tolchucks and Raja watch Claire. Claire gets the pill for Christmas. Franny wants to go to church and Claire decides to go with her.
