Aliens in America

Franny is obsessed with spending time with Justin before he goes to college. She gives many suggestions. Claire has to do volunteer work for school. Franny comes up with Community Theater. They are doing "Rent." Gary suggests stage crew because Justin isn't made for the stage. Franny is very excited!

Claire joins the team hotline at school. Claire's first caller is a pervert. Franny is singing in the theater while Justin paints the set. Franny tries to convince Justin to audition for a role. Then, he meets Zoe, who wants him to be the lead. He then auditions and gets the role of Roger. Justin feels good when she invites him to her apartment, but Franny sort of ruins it. Claire is angry when she doesn't get a real call at all. Claire thinks her family is non-supportive. Raja tries to support her and she takes on the challenge. When Justin mentions that he has to go to Zoe's, Franny gets a little nervous.

Justin is at Zoe's apartment. They talk about past auditions. Zoe says that Justin is more mature than most guys. Claire gets a call from a guy named Doug, who is actually Raja. He tries to help her out by giving her a problem. They both talked for hours and they started to bond. Zoe and Justin have developed chemistry. Franny tries to edit the scenes that Justin is in, in order to get her in the scene as well. Franny finds Justin studying and drinking coffee because of Zoe. Claire comes in hoping that Justin and Raja know a "Doug." Franny talks to Gary about Justin. Gary talks to Justin and then encourages him to move on with Zoe. Gary even pulls out some condoms for him. Justin then tells his friends about Zoe. He wanted his friends to believe him, so he shows them the condoms. He tells them that he had sex with her. As Doug, Raja tells Claire that he is moving. Franny then tries to use the phone, which makes things very complicated for Raja. He says that the lines may have crossed, so they all hang up.

Claire goes to Raja and he apologizes. She is very angry at him. He tells her that she really did help him though. They both told each other things that they haven't shared with anyone else. Claire is still upset. Dooley and Brad show up at the play. Zoe shows up with two friends. Justin is panicking. Dooley screws everything up for Justin. Zoe quits the play. The director gives Franny Zoe's part. They go out on stage. Claire tells Raja that they're good. For the onstage kiss, Franny kisses Justin on the forehead. After the show, Justin goes to Zoe's. He apologizes to her for lying. He and Zoe talk for hours.
