  • Welcome Mr Pratap hope you ll stay for a bit

    9.0
Raja gets a job at a really cool high school hangout. Gary gets fired from his and doesnt tell his wife. Justin becomes the donut boy. Everything seems to going well for him. When suddenly raja shows his morale side and doesnt allow people to buy beers. There are some touching and hilarious moments in this episode. Especially the part where Raja gets fird from his job. But i m not sure how long this show will last. The plot seems to be halting for no apparant reason. This might lead to its immediate axing next season. The writers need to explore more ways of driving the story forward.moreless

Gary loses his job. He doesn't want to tell Franny. Raja gets a job at a conveniance store. Claire likes hanging out at The Lot. Justin wants to go there, but she says no. When Justin visits Raja, he finds out that the parking lot in front of the store is The Lot. When he gives away free donuts, people think he is cool. Then Raja won't sell beer to the kids in his class and they get mad. The boss is angry and fires Raja. Justin isn't cool anymore. Gary tells Franny about his misfortune.

This was a great episode! I'm glad that Raja didn't sell beer to minors. That was a good thing, even though he got fired for it. This episode gets a 10!moreless
  • The show has been consistent from the start without any jitters and this episode is a good example.

    10
Justin's dad was told by his boss to fire few people under him , and on doing so the boss in turn fired him. So without a job and having not told anyone about it he gives a lecture on how to save money and how important it is for children to find a job and learn to know the value of a dollar. This encourages Raja to take up a part-time job at a convenient store so that he can contribute to the family in a small way. Justin on the other hand finds out what is "THE LOT" which was supposed to be something his sister only knew. Good laughs when Raja meets Patel the store owner who happens to be an Indian. Overall good episode and the show seems to be getting better.moreless

    • The text of the End of Employment card:
"You see, INSERT EMPLOYEE NAME, in today's economy, it is sometimes necessary to make some tough decisions. This is one of those times. We're sorry to have to let you go, but I do believe that the true measure of a man/woman is in the darkest of times, when it looks like all is lost. Because life is like a rolling river, EMPLOYEE NAME. It's our job to just ride that current and hold on tight."

  • QUOTES (5)

    • Justin: (Voiceover) Everyone is defined by what they do. Raja prays, my sister texts, and my mom moms. As for my dad, well, I've never really been sure what my dad does. He's some kind of middle manager for a big company

    • Franny: (after finding out that Suzanne's husband was fired) I just cannot imagine what Suzanne is going through. I mean, they have two kids close to college! Not that they're exactly college material, but they're sweet kids, despite their size.

    • Franny: Gary, they're teenagers. School is their job. Raja gets straight A's, but Claire really needs to get that history grade up, and Justin - he needs work on his physics...
      Justin: Yeah.
      Franny: ...social skills...
      Justin: What?

    • Franny: I made you an Omelette.
Justin: I...I said I just wanted toast...
Franny: You're 16! You don't know what you want!

    • Justin: Why are you so calm about all this?
Claire: Dude, have you met Raja? Of course he's not gonna sell kids beer. He closes his eyes when the married couple kisses in that diamond commercial.
