Aliens in America

Justin rents a movie on a book that he's supposed to read, as does Claire. Raja is stuck in ESL or English as a Second Language. Justin has to read Cliff Notes since Claire is watching her movie. Sandy Schimer, a woman who is careful at the moral integrity of the community, calls Franny about the English reading assignment. She calls Madame Bovary smut. Sandy is very cautious about the book, but Franny thinks that she is just overreacting like usual.. Justin begins to actually reads the book because of the smut Sandy said was in it. She was right. Justin then explains how he loves to draw. At age 14, Justin stopped drawing for Franny. Instead, he started drawing suggestive pictures of women. Franny discovers these drawings in a notebook that Justin had hidden.

Franny is pacing with Justin's notebook in hand. Gary comes in and Franny shows him the art. Franny realizes that Sandy is right. Justin walks in and sees that they have the notebook. He runs away. Gary tries to explain how images are strong. Justin shows him a lot of notebooks full of similar drawings. There's even more at school. Gary leaves Justin, so Franny joins Sandy Schrimer's committee. The ladies take the book to Mr. Matthews. Sandy convinces Mr. Matthews to ban that book. Justin is drawing a suggestive image in class.

Sandy's book banning committee is in high gear. They have a lot more books to ban. Justin tells Raja that he thinks he is obsessed with sex. Raja admits that he has some thoughts himself. Justin shows Raja his pictures. Claire's class has to actually read the book when the teacher announces that they're comparing the book to the movie. Claire takes advantage of the banning of books because she doesn't want to read. Raja starts studying Justin's drawings. Raja is now looking at them all the time and he feels guilty about it. Raja throws the notebook away, so Dooley picks it up. Raja finds a helpful website for Justin. It's called Plan Teenhood. Justin and Raja go there to ask some questions. Justin wants to know if it's okay to be thinking about sex all the time. The guy tries to help Justin. It turns out to be a religious organization. The guy tries to tell Justin about Jesus. Justin is freaked out and leaves.

Claire and her friends had time to watch TV because they don't have to read anymore. Franny, Sandy, and the ladies are dumping all the smutty books into a landfill the next morning. Raja tells Franny that there is nothing inappropriate in Pride and Prejudice. She reads it and then confronts Claire about it. Franny goes to Sandy's and tells her that some books aren't smut. Sandy takes it too far though. Gary finds Justin with his ruler and he decides to talk to Justin. Gary tells Justin that what he's going through is a little bit normal. Gary tells Justin that he used to put dots in the letter O to make them into breasts. It makes Justin feel better. Franny makes Claire read Pride and Prejudice. Sandy wants to ban the Bible. Justin finds his drawings all over school. Dooley is selling them to people at school.
