Niki: This whole thing with Alecia made me realize that I owe you an apology. There's no need for you to live up to an image of some hot, fashionable, glamorous rock star. You should just be yourself.
Ethan: Uh, thanks...I think.
Sierra: So, I don't really have calves or ankles. I have cankles.
Niki: This is the music business. They pay you to be crazy.
Cris: Then Alecia's gonna make a fortune.
Cris: Hey, Aleesh, you know I'm all for training hard but you might want to take a little break between these psychotic episodes of yours.
Cris: This is why I never read fashion magazines. I think they spread insanity through those perfume samples.

Katie Weiland is listed in the credits as playing Samantha Slinky, but she doesn't appear onscreen as far as we could tell. That's too bad, because we're sure many viewers would be interested in seeing was is described in the dialogue as the character's "perfect body!" Weiland is also credited as an assistant to the producers.
Ethan: Yesterday you had a headache that morphed you into Courney Love.
Courney Love is a rock musician who has led a band called Hole since 1992. She's also appeared as an actress in several films. She was married to Kurt Cobian of the rock group Nirvanah for the last two years of his life. Her volatile personality and sometimes explosive temper are well-documented.
J.P.: See you later, Yoko.
A reference to Yoko Ono, second wife of John Lennon of the Beatles from 1969 until his death in 1980. She came into Lennon's life not long before the demise of the Beatles and, rightly or wrongly, is seen by many fans as a contributing factor to the group's breakup by her influence over him.
Cris: When we were in the fifth grade, Niki could burp the entire theme song to Friends.
Friends is of course the long-running (since 1994), highly-successful NBC sitcom. Its familair theme song is "I'll Be There for You" by the Rembrandts.
