  • Allusions

    • Sierra: Hello, it takes three to do the Charlie's Angels pose.

Charlie's Angels was a TV show (1976-81) about three beautiful female private detectives working for an unseen boss. It originally starred Kate Jackson, Farrah Fawcett and Jaclyn Smith. The trio posed for a publicity shot that was much imitated, especially by young girls playing "Charlie's Angels" the way boys might play cops & robbers. The TV series was the basis for a feature film released in 2000 starring Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu in the title roles.

    • Steven: You're going to the Mustang rally?

The Mustang is one of the most popular American automobile models of all time. It was the brainchild and greatest success of Ford Motor Company president Lee Iacocca. The Mustang was introduced in 1964 and is still in production today.

    • Steven: when I let you think you were the one who broke your Easy-Bake Oven.

The Easy-Bake Oven was a popular toy introduced in 1963 by a company named Kenner, later bought by Hasbro. The toy oven used a light bulb as a heat source and could actually prepare a few simple kinds of foods.

    • Alecia: Want some cookie dough?

Raw cookie dough is a favorite "comfort food" for many people, women especially.

    • Steven: I suggest the witness protection program.

The Federal Witness Security Program, better known as the witness protection program, has been around since at least the 1960's. Under it, witnesses who testify against criminals (often organized crime figures) are aided in finding new identities and lives in different locations to protect them against retribution.

    • Sierra: Ooh, an alibi! Very Puff Daddy.

Sean "Puffy" Combs, also known as Puff Daddy and more recently P. Diddy, is a highly successful rap record producer and performer who has had several encounters with the law. Most notable was an arrest with his then-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez on weapons and bribery charges after a gun was found in his car after a nightclub shooting. Combs was not convicted of any crimes himself, but an associate was sentenced to ten years in jail for injuring three people.

    • Alecia: ...they'll probably challenge you to watch a Bulls game.

The Chicago Bulls are that city's team in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Alecia is putting down the lameness of the challenges offered in the game of "Truth or Dare."
