  • Margaret volunteers in a hospital to get over her dating slump.

Margaret has not been on a date in 2 weeks. It seems as though everyone has things to do and dates to go on. She is even infringing on her parents who want to be together. Stuart and her come to the conclusion that she is in a dating slump. He suggests that she volunteers in a hosptial in order to meet some men and hopefully get a date.

Margaret becomes close with a patient in the hospital who is grumpy. She finds that she has no friends or family. Margaret agrees to be her next of kin for a hosptial form. This act of kindness prompts a doctor to ask her on a date.moreless

    • Margaret: Well, men aren't everthing.
Emma Wade: No, my dear, they are not, but they sure know how to make a hammock swing on a sunny afternoon. Mr. Wade sure could.
      Margaret: Where's he?
Emma Wade: He's mostly in Zaire, but the great apes that tore him limb from limb took part of him to Kenya.
      Margaret: That's awful.
Emma Wade: Yeah. I'll never forget his last words. Look, honey. He wants to shake my hand.

    • Stuart: Hey. No date again.
Margaret: Yeah, it's been two weeks now.
Stuart: Aww, relax Margaret. Hey, maybe you're having a slump.
      Margaret: A slump?
Stuart: Yeah, like in sports. A baseball player hits nothing but home runs and then, phhht, he can't get a hit.
Margaret: Well, how long does a slump last?
Stuart: Well, that's the thing about slumps. You never know, it could be over in two weeks or...never. (Margaret gets a horrified look on her face.) Well, I'll be at Amy's, where I'm batting a thousand.
