In this episode Gloria and Ruthie have a male room mate, named Alton, who we never see.
Margaret: Hi Grandma. Grandma: Hello Margaret. Margaret: Hey what happen to your ratings box? Grandma: I had them take it away. It's wrong for a show to live or die by it's ratings. (Margaret nods in agreement.) A program should be judged by it's quality, it's intelligence, it's insight to the human condition. (Grandma glances at the TV) Oh, look, it's a monkey on roller skates. Margaret: Hey, and he's got a pie. (Margaret claps like a todler.) Grandma: (reading from TV Guide.) Oh, it's The Monkey and Pie Show. I love Monkey and Pie. It so good.
Margaret: (speaking to Ruthie and Gloria) Did you here that? See ya at my place. Before that meant 'Come sit on the couch and have my Mom stare at you'. Now it means 'You're not getting away till I eat desert off your chest'.
Margaret: (talking about a cute repair guy) Figures the one time you want to see a repair guys butt cheeks and he's wearing a belt.
Casey (Ashley Johnson) does not appear in this episode.
The Silence of the Lambs While Margaret is showing off her new basement apartment, Ruthie says, "It's so Silence of the Lambs". This is a reference to the movie of the same name where a serial killers kills women in his basement
