Episode Summary

EDIT
Tommy decides to enter a film making contest judged by his idol Martin Costomiris. But when his sci-fi movie proves to be a disaster, mostly due to the uncooperative cast, Tommy realizes that what goes on behind the scenes of the movie is far more interesting. Risking his friends, he follows them and secretly videotapes some of their private moments. When the others find out that Tommy had betrayed all of them, he's forced to make choice: his "movie masterpiece" or his friends.moreless

  • The new Rugrats

This was a good episode. Personally I think this should have been the first episode. It had all 8 characters and it showed them as they were before. I think the others were a little hard on Tommy even though they did have a right to be angry.

Dil is hilarious. He is such a character. It's hard to believe he's the same annoying cute little baby who use to drool, poop, and cry louder more than any of the others. I can see why he was voted as the number one favorite rugrat. Dil's not easily embarrassable like the others, if you think about it he's the wisest one. His goofy side story sort of balances out Tommy's somewhat serious story.moreless
  • Friends or an perfect masterpeice movie.

Tommy entered the film contest to get the chance to meet his favorite director. At first he was trying to make an movie an SCFI Movie, but it fails of course. When he see his friends arguing he decided to give an behind secret scenes of his friends fighting over things not even relizing that it would hurt his friends feelings. If they saw this. But when they did.Of course, they were mad at this for what Tommy did.So in the end Tommy, just did an film about his friends that he knew while growing up.I think he did this film,to let his friends know that he was sorry for his action before and would never do it again.Yeah an very good episode.moreless
  • Funny and light hearted. A Must see for any All Grown Up! fan.

    10
All Grown Up, as you've probably guessed is a show about the 'rats as preteens, this episode imparticular is a classic as it shows just how much, the group have or haven't changed. Tommy the babies leader has grown into an espiring director. As this episode shows.

    *SPOILERS AHEAD*

The episode begins with Tommy filming "beauty in the strangest places" When Angelica decideds to jump infront of the camera. We then learn a film compation is being held... with Tommy's favorite director as the judge. Tommy begins to direct his film, a space/sci-fi job... only to find his friends can't get on long enough to do the scenes or without improvising:

    "It's a choice..."

    "Make another one."

Tommy then finds what he wants his film to be, a documentry of what his friends secerts.... but to do that... he risks his friendship with the others. His friends find out what his planning to do and stop talking to him. How does Tommy get out of this? Believe it or not with a little help from a poster....

Fun alround, but not really for those who want to revisit the types of adventures they had as babies.

    Best Moments: Dil's insparitional speech.

Phil and Lil changing Phil's Grade.

Worst Moments: None. This is a brilliant episode, but not all episodes are perfect.

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (5)

    • There is a scene when everyone is watching the tape in Tommy's room. Look at Kimi's earring - they change their color throughout the scene.

    • In one scene, when Dil and Tommy are in Tommy's room watching the video, the zig-zag on Dil's shirt is a different color.

    • When Pangborn kicks the door open, you can see pieces of the door go shattering in all different directions. Some pieces, however, remain floating in thin air instead of falling on to the floor.

    • When Betty sticks her head into the ice box, an ice cube stays in mid-air instead of falling down to the floor like the others.

    • When Chuckie's yelling at Kimi, his braces seem to disappear for about 2 or 3 seconds.

  • QUOTES (15)

    • (Doing a very bad acting job)
      Phil: You found the report?
Lil: Our creator is not from here?

    • Betty: You boys seen Rufus anywhere?
      Tommy: Who's Rufus?
Betty: Garden gnomes don't vanish into thin air.
Dil: I'm sure Rufus will call if he's in trouble.

    • (Lil, Chuckie, & Tommy howl like dogs; Phil moos)
Chuckie: Phil, we're trying to get the dogs barking, not summoning some cows in Idaho.

    • (After watching Tommy's video)
Angelica: (Gasps) Savannah can't see this! I'll never get an invite to the party I wouldn't be caught dead at.

    • (In Panborn's office)
Pangborn: Let's try a word-association experiment: I'll say a word; you respond with the first thing that comes to mind. Hot.
      Dil: Hot.
      Pangborn: Cold.
      Dil: Cold.
      Pangborn: Stop it.
      Dil: Stop it.
Pangborn: You're supposed to give me a new word, not the same one I gave you!
Dil: You asked me to say the first word that came to mind. And when you say "hot," the first word I think of is, well... "hot."
Pangborn: (Growls) Get out! No session tomorrow. Instead, I want to see the people responsible for your existence. (Rips his suit at the back)
Dil: (Tries to open door) It's stuck.
Pangborn: (Kicks door down) Now it's not.

    • (In Pangborn's office)
Pangborn: I've been observing you, Pickles, and I must say I find your behavior disturbing.
      Dil: Tell me more.
Pangborn: This past week I've noticed you eating exclusively green foods, hopping to class on one foot, and wearing your clothes inside out. What does that tell you, son?
Dil: That you have a lot of free time on your hands?
Pangborn: (Growls) This is a standard psychological Rorschach test: I show you an inkblot; you tell me what you see. (Holds up an inkblot)
      Dil: A Rorschach test.
Pangborn: (Growls) Now, what do you see? (Holds up another inkblot)
Dil: Uh, a medieval castle, hundreds of angry villagers, a raging moat, a fire-breathing dragon, and a honey-baked ham.
(Pangborn bangs his head against his desk repeatedly)

    • Chuckie: What's the matter? Afraid you'll miss The Dummy Bears?
Kimi: I told you not to tell anyone, you big mouth!
Chuckie: I didn't. BUT MAYBE NOW I WILL!

    • Phil & Lil: We have de-programmed the specimen.
Angelica: Shame on you, bad aliens. As your beautiful and benevolent queen, I order you to release him -
Tommy: Angelica! For the hundredth time, say your lines as written!
Angelica: HELLO? How can I be loved by millions if I play an evil, nasty alien? I wanna play a nice alien, NICE! Now get that through your thick skull, or I'm walkin'!
Tommy: You're right, what was I thinking casting you as the evil villain?
Angelica: That better not be sarcasm.

    • (The twins see Dil walk down the hall on his hands)
Phil: I wonder what Dil would be like if we never dropped him on his head...
      (Lil shrugs)

    • Phil: On a scale of one to ten, how mad would mom be if I got a D+ on the math test?
      Lil: Ten being the highest?
      (Phil nods head yes)
      Lil: A gazillion eighty-five.

    • Lil: Gross! You farted in here!
Phil: No, you did that, Lilian!
Lil: It is biologically impossible for girls to fart!

    • Tommy: ... Or maybe a musical...
      (Imagining)
All: (In circle) La, la, la, la...
      Tommy: (Out of imagining) Nah.

    • Angelica: Don't be a chump, Chuckie. I did the dirty work. It's up to you to get rid of the body.
      (Dil gets up)
Angelica: What are you doing? Dead people don't get up and walk around!
Dil: They do if they have to pee.

    • Tommy: (Rolling camera) Sometimes you can find beauty in the most unexpected places.
(Angelica comes on screen and hits window)

    • Tommy: I know what to do! I'm a little concerned that I just had a conversation with a poster... but I'll worry about that later.
