Gloria is almost sexually assaulted, and she wants to file a case against the perp, but Archie and Mike have second thoughts when they realize how difficult it would be to do so.

Good, no, great episode on the subject of rape. It had the right amount of humor and some drama and was handled in a really good way. A+ is of course going to be my final grade for this episodemoreless

    • Mike: Gloria was attacked!
      Edith: She was lucky.
Archie: What!? What do you mean lucky?
      Gloria: I fainted.
      Mike: What do you mean?
Gloria: I mean I fainted and he must've gotten scared because...he must've thought I was dead, so he left.

    • Edith: In my days we didn't talk openly about that kind of stuff because we were afraid of it. And I don't know that we should've because I've always wondered how many other girls he got under the boardwalk...and how many of them didn't get away.

    • Edith: He was pushing me down and grabbing at me.
Gloria: Just like what happened to me.
      Edith: Yes, only with sand.
      Gloria: Ma, did he?
Edith: Oh no, I ran out of there like crazy.
Gloria: But how'd you get away?
Edith: There were 2 things that my father taught me, 1, don't ever order a hamburger from the drugstore, and the other thing had something to do with knees.

    • Archie: My supper's attacked by the neighbor's dog, my daughter's attacked by some guy on the streets, what am I sitting here for? I need to call the cops.
Edith: Archie, I don't think she wants to talk to the police about it right now.
Archie: Why not? This guy could still be creeping around out there like Jack the Raper.

    • Gloria: I felt my clothes being ripped off and I fainted and he must've left because when I came to...
      Mike: You mean he didn't...
Gloria: No, he didn't, he didn't.
      Archie: Thank God for that.

    • Archie: As our President, Richard E. Nixon, said in his renegural address, "You're on your own! Don't expect no help from nobody, especially the government!
