  • Archie is asked to deliver the "urology" at Stretch Cunningham's funeral, unaware until he arrives that Stretch was Jewish.

This episode contains some of the best comedy in the whole series as Archie makes gaffe after politically incorrect gaffe in his attempts to eulogize at a funeral. The comedy is contrasted by the stark sincerity in which Archie delivers it.

Highlights include Archie actually telling a Jewish joke in the synagogue that Stretch had told the week before at the dock, as well as wondering aloud if Stretch would feel out of place in Heaven, since "there ain't nothin' but Christians there."
  • Archie is complaining about Stretch Cunningham when finds out that friend has passed away, and he is asked to give the eulogy at stretchs funeral. He gets Mike to help with it,but has to improvise when he discovers that Stretch was Jewish.

This poignant episode is very high on my list of favorite episodes as we get to see a side of Archie that we rarely ever got to see.It is also a good example of how much the character has mellowed compared to the earliest episodes. And it is also among the funniest episodes of the series. The eulogy scene is brillant, with Archie fumbling to come up with something to say without offending anyone, yet at the same, theres something moving about his speech, which shows how brillant Carroll O Connor was at creating such a sympathetic character. And the scene where Archie tries to get Mike to help is hilarious, with Archie yet again imposing his own views on religion. This is just a wonderful mix of humor and poignancy in a way few shows can top.
  • Archie speak about his friend in his friend funeral.

Archie best friend Stretch Cumming passed away.Someone asked Archie that he would give an speech for him.Archie agree however he didn't know that Stretch is Jewish. He wasn't sure even if to go the church to tell about his friend and everything. After finding out that his friend wasn't really truthful. In the end he told his thoughts and feelings about his friend.
