Mike: (to Gloria) Do not, I repeat, do not play hide-and-seek with my Royal Crown Cola!
Gloria: I don't know why you don't put the toilet seat down...other husbands do! Edith: Archie don't. He says that's woman's work.
Mike: Haven't you ever heard of poetic license? Gloria: Your poetry doesn't deservce a license.
Gloria: (to Mike) Liar, Liar, pants on fire! You're hanging from a telephone wire!
Louise: Wine and beer, that's a bad combination, George. George: So are we, but we work it out!
This was the last of the three-part episode that the writers had devised to explain Archie's absence. Supposedly Archie went off to Buffalo and would either return or get killed there, depending on O'Connor's decision to return to the show. When Carroll O'Connor walked through the door and delivered the last line of this episode, the studio audience went wild, because it meant that he and Lear had reached an agreement.
