The episode opens with a man being admitted after a hit-and-run. He's fine, but he needs a few weeks to recover. Trouble is, tomorrow he's giving his son a kidney, and the operation needs to be postponed. The son is disintegrating fast and the father takes matters into his own hands - by threatening to jump off the hospital roof if the transplant doesn't take place. Frank is torn between having to lie to get the man off the roof or risk him jumping.

Sean freezes up during a risky operation. I would like to see a follow up of this storyline, and speaking of follow-ups, what happened to Spence? There's no mention of his departure, no Charlotte being in a bad mood because she misses her boyfriend. (And to TPTB, I still haven't finishing griping about the way you're messing with her sexuality.)

Bart's supposedly finished his rotation at Emergency, but I believe Jack was supposed to finish HIS rotation about eighteen months ago. TPTB can be pretty inventive, sometimes. I'm interested in seeing if they can bring the charcter back, and how. I got the impression he was around to stay, althought they HAVE introduced a whole bunch of new characters lately.

It's time for Kathleen to go to Europe, and it's a sad goodbye for Frank. I'd like to see her when she returns, see what Europe has done for her. Frank and Evie reconcile in quite a touching scene; am I the only one who's seeing wedding bells on the horizon? And contrary to popular belief, I think Alex Fowler has a really unique singing voice that suits the kind of songs she sings.

I was disappointed at how little Gabrielle was used; she featured in, like, thirty seconds. From the spunkiness she showed last week, I thought she would be our most firecracker NUM yet, but instead, it looks like she may be the most support one.

Overall, the episode was a very so-so one. I was unable to sit down and watch it properly, so perhaps I couldn't really get into it, but the storyline felt very flat this week. Of course, I have to gripe at how little they're using Jack - I think Wil Travel is one of the show's best actors, and I was hoping the absence of Vincent would give him more to do. Six.moreless
