  • One of the best episodes this year, but would they decide what the hell they're doing with Jo?

    8.0
For once, I don't have much to complain about regarding this episode. I thought the sharl storyline was very well done - I liked the way it was played, the 'we can work miricles on a shark victim, and have someone die from an allergic reaction to medication'. I thought Vincent was a bit arrogant in his insistance they do surgery, and his giving the nursing staff no choice in it - no wonder Gabrielle was so upset. I hope they explain Vincent's arrogance later.

Zoe trying to distract the admin guy was funny, as was the way she got back at Frank for palming it onto her by arranging for him to do a talk. So was the way Frank then palmed it onto Bart, making it seem like an honour - which Bart readily accepted. The charactrer dynamics were really good this week.

The flesh-eating bacteria storyline was interesting, and I loved that it gave Bart the oppurtunity to spread his wings. Loved Jo's display of compassion and clueness in this episode, both with Cate and Bart.

But in regard to Jo, I HATED the way she kept throwing herself at Sean. It was tacky. Surely someone as sophisticated and confident as her would cut her losses when a guy rejected her? That was my only real gripe for this episode.

Poor Bart, running into Erica and Sean that way, although surely he could have understood how upset she was? Even from the bit Bart walked in on, it didn't looked all that touchy-feely. I wait with baited breath to see how this develops...

Eight. Would have given it a nine but for the inconsistant way Jo was handled.moreless

    • Trivia: The fleshing eating bacteria that Bart diagnoses is called Necrotizing Fasciitis. It is a bacterial infection which destroys skin, soft tissue, fat and tissue surrounding the muscles. This bacteria is extremely rare, but can be very serious. Approximately 30% of those who contract the condition die from the disease.
