If the pre-teens should happen to watch this, I feel that the jokes could go WAY over their heads. Do you agree to this?

It's like Bob's Burgers. The humor is probably gonna be really smart, and it would go over their heads.

From the bits that I saw, it seems this show is aimed toward 50 year old metrosexuals. First off, the population of these people is small and secondly, for those few, I wouldn't think that they would watch a cartoon. Who was the idiot who gave the go-ahead for this show?

Isn't the only reoccurring joke is that that Allen and his old man are yuppies who don't listen to what other people are saying then degrade them and continuing to get away with it without learning anything?

The only joke is the fact that they got people to watch this s*** because it was stuck between 2 good shows.

The word jokes in the title of this thread should be in quotation marks.

And do not compare this garbage with Bob's Burgers!

I'm not a pre-teen and I think I got all the references, but they just weren't clever or funny. I don't think anyone with a post-tweenage sense of humor could appreciate this show's lazy shout-outs to stuff that anyone who reads a newspaper will understand, made without any wit whatsoever. And even if they could, they'd still have a hard time getting past this show's hackneyed premise (awkwardsheltered kid tries to fit in at school? Rich family loses its money/prestige? How original!), stock caricatures, gross body humor, and overall pointlessness.

I like highbrow humor. I still watch "The Simpsons" partly because it occasionally does highbrow fairly well. But this show's juvenile nonsense is anything but highbrow.

There would have to be jokes in this show for jokes to go over anyone's head. As it stands, some of the mindless drivel might go over some peoples heads, but they should probably count themselves lucky.

At least it is better than Bob's Burgers, that show could be sold as sleeping pills.

I'd say Bob's Burgers humor is more subtle like "King of the Hill". Nothing even close to being absurdly pretentious or trendy.
