Goof: Part of the supposedly stone architecture of the chateau roof wobbles when John Louis Mansi pretends to fall.
(giving security advice) Crabtree: There are many bugalurs about. The girls should lick their bedroom door, and your wife should have a good strong belt.
(climbing into the refuse truck dressed as a dancing girl) Edith: This is showbusiness for you, one minute you are a star, the next you are on the rubbish heap.
Herr Flick: You are late, Von Smallhausen. Von Smallhausen: My peasant servant forgot to wake me up. Herr Flick: Did you shoot him? Von Smallhausen: No, no. I spoke to him sharply and told him to be more careful in future. Herr Flick: I sometimes wonder how you got into the Gestapo, Von Smallhausen. Von Smallhausen: I think it was the limp. And the sinister gaze.
René: You are probably wondering why I have been upstairs with my wife and the policeman. Colonel Von Strohm: It's France, René. One is not surprised at anything.
(The people at Café René discuss Captain Geering's disappearance.) Yvette: I think perhaps he was taken by the Communist Resistance. René: The Communist Resistance? I thought they were on strike. Yvette: It has been settled. They have agreed on higher ransoms.
Colonel Von Strohm: What am I going to tell the General? Hans (his final words): Umm ... tell him the food is very good, and the British think they are going to win! Over and out!
This is the only episode of the show that did not start with the regular theme tune. This is also one of those rare episodes where the painting of the Fallen Madonna is not mentioned at any point.
Song: Lieutenant Gruber performs the Noel Coward classic "Mad About the Boy". In 1990 Guy Siner would play Noel Coward in "You Rang, M'Lord", another David Croft production.
Even though Sam Kelly's last appearance was in the previous episode, his voice can be heard at the end of this episode when he explains to the Colonel what happened to him.
In this episode, the fate of Maria is finally explained. It turns out her escape plan was to disguise herself as a Red Cross parcel and mail herself home but instead she was returned to Switzerland due to a lack of postage.
