Actress Phoebe Scholfield swaps sides for this episode - she usually plays Henriette, (Michelle's assistant) but here she appears as one of the Communist girls
Once again, the cast list was not in order of appearance despite what the credits said. Moira Foot was the third to speak in the episode, and yet she is credited after Rose Hill, who did not appear until well into the second half
Alphonse: You have to marry the Head of the Communist Resistance? Edward 'Scarface' Sablon?! Rene: No! He is the Paris branch! I am talking about the Nouvion West sub area. They are affiliated to Paris but work independently.
(Alphonse agrees to build Fanny a cottage) Alphonse: We will lay the first brick immediately the war is over. Fanny: The foundations must be laid immediately after the wedding. Getting laid after the war will be no good to me. Edith: I agree.
Von Klinkerhoffen: We are in danger of becoming a laughing stock. Von Strohm: I agree. The French are becoming very cheeky. Von Klinkerhoffen: Putting smoke bombs down my chimney is more than cheeky, Colonel.
Fairfax: You know, I've been scratching the old brainbox. Carstairs: Steady on!
(Rene and Denise are reunited) Denise: Rene! Rene: Barbara! Denise: Denise. Rene: Denise, I'm sorry.
Edith: Mama, Monsieur Alphonse the undertaker is here to pay his respects. Madame Fanny: I am five foot two. Tell him to go away.
Louise: There was but one man in her life and he let her down. He was dead as he hit the ground. René: Heart attack? Louise: She pushed him off the Eiffel Tower.
Mimi: I cannot hear your heart. René: That is because you are listening to my appendix.
(playing poker) Herr Flick: How dare you try to bluff a senior Gestapo officer with a pair of tens? I have won. Von Smallhausen: Am I allowed to see your hand, Herr Flick? Herr Flick: No. You have lost. I get your Gestapo pen & pencil set.
On the dvd (region 2) this episode is called "Otherwise Engaged".
Carstairs: It's like the Marie Celeste here. Fairfax: I didn't know you had a classic education. Carstairs: I saw the film. The Marie Celeste was the famous ship found abandoned by its crew in 1872. Carstairs probably refers to the 1935 film "The Mystery of the Marie Celeste" starring Bela Lugosi.
