I would have to say Capt. Hans Geering. He was the funniest and most loveable on the show. I still watched the show after he left, but it wasn't the same. I was glad when he made a guest appearance on the show in series 7 to tie up the loose end of what happened to him.

Yeah, I love it when he is to respond on the Gestapo's "Heil Hitler"; he always says: "klopp"... *rofl*

But I must say Maria is the prettiest girl on the show, I wonder why she didn't start a career...

My favorites are René and Gruber. but the others are also great
i like the best the "heil hitler"-s, than when Michelle said always: "Listen very carefully, I shall say this only once". and when René says You stupid woman!": Every time René is caught by his wife Édith in the arms of another woman.

Definately Rene, I met Yvette once though, She didn't look as young as she looked in the show though, but she was friendly.

Officer Crabtree is my alltime favorite character.  He is hilarious all teh time.

2nd: I cannot remember his name, but he's the German officer who always liked to wear women's clothing.

No, Guber was a bit weird, but Herr Flick from the Gestapo always liked to wear women's clothing.

I think you're referring to Herr Flick of the Gestapo.

My favorite character was definitely Herr Flick - true villain fear and square! After Hans left, the show was not as good as before, but when they brought another guy to play Herr Flick, it ultimately went downhill, and no wonder that they ended it soon after that.

To end discussion about Hans (if there was any) - when everybody say "Heil Hitler he says "'Tler" because he is lasy to say the entire phrase. I know this cuz I checked on "Cafe Rene" website, and they air the show with subtitles in my country so I read.

So many greats. I think Crabtree just beats Flick. They should teach everyone how to speak like him (Crabtree) and I'm trying to do so myself much to the confusion of my friends.

I've used Michelle's line "Listen very carefully, I shall say this only once" on occasion.
