Bertorelli: Who is this handsome officer who looks like a film-a star? Von Strohm: (to Gruber) This is Captain Bertorelli. Gruber: I heard about you from the General. Von Strohm: (to Bertorelli) This is Lieutenant Gruber. Bertorelli: (his face shows panic) I, er... heard about-a you from the General.

(Gruber and Rene stand at the bar) Gruber: Rene, I wish to speak to you confidentially. Can you bend over a little?
Rene: That is the one that fancies me. Mimi: Who is to blame him? You have a quality that is irresistable. Rene: You too?
(Rene runs into the back room, snatching the wine glasses from Flick and Helga, and throwing the bottle out of the window) Rene: It was not a good year.

Herr Flick: I have decided to marry you. Helga: I thought we were going to wait until after the war. Herr Flick: These are dangerous times, Helga. We must grab every moment of happiness while we may. Helga: Herr Flick, you have always managed to grab it so far without getting married.
General Von Klinkerhoffen (chastising Colonel Von Strohm's new assistant): Captain Bertorelli! Officers in the German army do not kiss the lady Privates.
Despite the credits rolling over stock film footage of the village square outside the cafe, none of the film crew are credited on-screen as all of the action during the episode is set in the studio. This is the first episode not to feature any (new) location filming since Six Big Boobies (2.1)
The flying helmet and the wet celery get their first mentions since Gruber Does Some Mincing (3.2)
This is the first episode for both Gavin Richards as Captain Bertorelli and Sue Hodge as Mimi.
