Maria: "Rene, after we are married, we will look back on all this and laugh, will we not?" Rene: "Oh Maria, we will have hysterics."
Flick: "Who would require the engine of a lawnmower?" Von Smallhausen: "Possibly Herr Flick, someone who possesses a lawnmower without an engine?" Flick: "Do not be a smart arse with me, Von Smallhausen!"
(Flick sings the Gestapo Hokey-Cokey) Flick: "You put your left boot in, you take your left boot out, you do a lot of shouting and you shake your fists about, you light a little smokey and you burn down ze town, zat's what it's all about... aaaaaah Himmler Himmler Himmler!"
(Flick has invited Helga to join the Gestapo club) Flick: "Are you pleased?" Helga: "Of course, Herr Flick. To be in the club with the Gestapo will be a great honour."
Yvette: "I am amazed that no one has managed to penetrate your disguise." Crabtree: "I have been licky, but I have had some narrow sqwauks. I wish to spook with Rene. Kill him, and get me a ciffie."
Von Smallhausen: I think this man is innocent. Herr Flick: (shocked) What sort of a Gestapo officer are you, saying a man is innocent?
Gruber: Before I was a window dresser I was employed in an art gallery. Occasionally I was allowed to touch up old masters.
Yvette: Why do you sigh, Maria? Maria: It is the life we lead, Yvette. It is terrible. Climbing those stairs time after time to entertain men. It is not right! Yvette: Oh, I agree with you. We should have a room on the ground floor.
London: Allo Nighthawk's mother-in-law -- are you reading me? Fanny (answering the voice of London Calling): No, the print is too small. Please send a bigger book!
The maid at Von Klinkerhoffen's chateau is called Veronique.
Gruber has given his tank a polish - this is the first episode in which he refers to it as his "little tank" rather than his armoured car. In a neat nod to established continuity, Gruber mentions his previous jobs as window dresser and art gallery assistant (first mentioned in episode 2.1).
Helga has a spare key to Herr Flick's headquarters, which he gave to her incase of emergencies and pre-approved secret canoodles. Helga's working day ends at 5.30pm, after which she tidies the office and has a Schapps and a "little nibble" with the Colonel.
Colonel Von Strohm: All the RAF has been shot down. Captain Hans Geering: Goebbels said so on the wireless, so it must be true. Mind you, he said Eva Braun was 29. If you believe that, you'll believe anything. Hitler's female companion Eva Braun was 28 years old at the start of the war, so Goebbels may have been right about her age.
