Goof: The action picks up immediately from the end of the previous episode (2.6) when we left the gang waving goodbye in relative daylight. But now it is pitch dark.
When Capt. Geering takes the jug with the drug to the table we can clearly see one full bottle of wine, and one mostly full bottle on the bar. When we see them next the mostly full bottle is empty, even though the other wine jugs were taken straight from under the bar, and not filled.
When Lieutenant Gruber mentions that General Klinkerhoffen is related to the "Kaiser", he is referring to Hitler and not to Kaiser Wilhelm II as is the common for this term.
Colonel Von Strohm: I expect you think I had that bust made of myself out of vanity? Captain Hans Geering: Well, it did cross my mind and then I thought it was so lifelike that it could not be vanity.
Colonel Von Strohm (on proper Axis Etiquette): One of the first things you learn in military academy is never to tell a General when he has a chicken on his head!
Colonel Von Strohm (concerned that the General will find the cuckoo clock): If Von Klinkerhoffen hears my head ticking, he will think I am a bomb!
Edith: Without your glasses, you are even more attractive. Capt. Hans Geering: So are you.
Capt. Hans Geering: Do you not see? That if we kill him with the pill in the till, by making with it the drug in the jug, you need not light the candle with the handle on the gateau from the chateau!
The on-screen title of the show has changed font.
Do note that this is not a stand-alone Christmas episode but a direct continuation of the previous episode "Herr Flick's Revenge".
This episode has sometimes been cut into two 30 minute episodes in order to better fit with some station schedules. Unfortunately, some stations have actually shown the second half only, which renders the episode senseless.
This Christmas Special is 60 minutes long.
