Ally McBeal: Favorite Character?

etc.
I think all the characters (except renee!) are really quite fantastic! They act really well and the characters are so well developed. Any thoughts?

My preferences: Ally - after all, what would it have been without her? John - especially when he was channelling Barry White! Elaine - I only wish she'd had more musical numbers Ling - love her or hate her (sometimes both), she was never boring Richard - he grew on you. Sometimes like fungus. Bygones! Whipper - strong & intelligent & unabashedly sexual

i think i can't order, but surely my fav are ...
john, ally, ling, elaine, nelle

but actually what i really prefer are more situations than characters
for example i love water closet, and how john and the others dance in it !

I loved Ally. Elaine or Georgia would be second followed by John and Richard and maybe Maddie

I never liked Nell, Ling or Larry

Oh, I love them all, the main characters in the beginning. Those coming to the show in the 5th season I don't like at all, whith one exception. Claire Otoms -- Dame Edna. And one to! Liza Bump. The first is a vulgar and very funny character, and the latter an interesting character, and -- not to forget -- very cute. For me, they both grew into the show while the others (I can't even remember their names... Jenny, Mark and Coretta, yea, maybe there was more?).

The "good old" characters, like Ally, Richard, John, Elaine, Ling, Georgia, Nelle, Renee, Whipper is all lovely. But for some reason I never really liked Billy... I don't know why, maybe he was something of a "betrayer" in my eyes, for leaving Ally for Georgia. Tracey is lovely though! And Larry was OK.

Richard, and John Cage - the whole 'knee pit' thing was hilarious:
Richard (to John, in a mysterious voice): "The knee pit is a very dangerous move in the wrong hands"
John: "Oh shut up and show me the manouvre!"
The other character I adored was Ling. I keep seeing her cutting the hair of the guy with the supersized combover. This was the combover from Hell - it made Donald Trump look bald! I just keep seeing this hair unravelling and unravelling, watching the characters' heads rotating as they watch this hair unravelling, watching Ling extend her arms waaaaay over this guy's head unravelling this hair - and then summarily cutting it off with one brutal snip! I was laughing so hard when I tried to tell my colleagues at work about the scene that I couldn't get the words out!
Then there was the whole Ling and Richard thing and the viagra...I could go on and on!
This show was brilliant and I miss it - although the whole Billy/Ally story line was well tired well before the end...

This is actually something to think about, and a lot harder than it seems!

I love Ally herself, so she would have to be first. Billy got to be boring after a while, but mr Fish grew on me....so, after some thought...

loved more than just Ally herself though, so ask me another day, and the order might be different!

Ally. I could totally reality to her neuroses and she was so human and wore her heart on her sleeve. I completely felt able to relate to her. I also loved John for his openess, sensitivity and honesty. I liked Richard and Ling for their sarcasm and wit. I enjoyed Nelle's coldness with a heart underneath. Oh heck, I enjoyed all the characters!
