Ally McBeal

The judge forbids the lawyers to interfere on Claire's engagement, and her fiancée decides to call the wedding off. Devastated, Claire goes to Ally for help. Ally says it's good that they've fought, because where there's fight there's passion. Claire then asks if she and Victor fight a lot, and Ally says no. Claire then asks if she and Larry fought a lot, and the answer is yes. Ally is shaken with the memory of Larry, and isn't sure of her feelings for Victor anymore. In the middle of that there's Todd, whom Ally turned down as an attorney, but who asked her out on a date. He gets on her nerves and they fight a lot. On their date, Ally confronts Victor and tries to pick a fight with him. He storms out of the restaurant and Ally takes a cab to chase him. And just who was in the cab but Todd? They go out for drinks, and Ally sees Larry in him. She goes home to Victor and realizes that although she loves Larry, it's Victor who she really wants. They finally sleep together. Claire and her fiancée make up and postpone their wedding to June. Meanwhile, John and Nelle try to settle upon their imminent lost in court, but Liza has now lowered her offer. John is furious and decides to take her down, which he does. After the result, Liza reveals that she is truly hot for him, and John, seeing beyond that into the good lawyer she really is, offers her his office and a position at the firm.
