This is one of the better episodes David E. Kelley cranked out during his Practice/Ally years. The showdown many fans waited and waited for between Billy and Ally finally took place. And in a great place for it to happen was in a therapist's office - especially a therapist placed by Tracy Ullman. Her short run on the show was quite good, and the episode is a fine example.

The acting is also quite superb, with both Flockhart and Bellows outstanding and wonderfully vulnerable during the showdown.

It is a rarely seen combo of good writing and acting on television, and while this show had many down moments, this episode is most certainly one of the up.
