  • not anatomically correct

Here we have an episode who features human cloning and it feels again like another missed opportunity. The only thing about human cloning that we find out is that it is banned. This would have been a great opportunity to go into the moral pros and cons and the philosophical and legal ramifications. Instead we have a bad guy who cloned himself and no pondering about if the clones are the same person, have the same character or are persons of their own. It would have been more interesting to also see the other side, perhaps get to know one of the clones better, who would have shown us what the writers think about cloning.

Also, a psychic who can speak to the dead? I would accept that there might be procedures in the future to heighten the capacity of what the brain can do, but speaking with ghosts? For me ghosts still belong in fantasy, not sci-fi, because I think we can agree that there is no such thing. Liked the character though. She was nice and quirky.

Finally we see where Dorian lives. Sadly, the idea that he wants his own place only got about one line. That should be a whole subplot, where they could delve into the rights of androids. We also see that the other police androids are not anatomically correct ( I am just wondering why all the police androids look male, is there still gender bias in the future?). Sadly we don't find out whether Dorian is also not anatomically correct.moreless

  • The cloning story was a bit stupid, BUT..

    9.0
Not a brilliant storyline, the cloning story was a bit stupid and boring, BUT the sheer comedy of the bounce backs between Kennex and Dorian more than made up for it!
  • More than a holographic Illusion!

It was a lovely episode hitting all the marks as far as I am concerned. The actors all did an excellent job with a clever storyline which pulled on great scifi references to drive the plot along with flare and panache. Also a good amount of character building went on here and a nice amount of action.

Lets hope Dorian does get his own place. That Kennex does hook up with Stahl. That Maldonado gets it on with Sheriff Andy (Ref: Eureka).

    No 4 episode jinx here!moreless
